      The panel technology used. You'll mostly see IPS, VA or TN panels and they come with their own advantages and disadvantages.

    Not saying you are wrong but I feel like the differences between difference TN vs IPS panels are exaggerated, most gaming laptops even high end ones use TN (many of them claim 'IPS level but its really TN' panels, I use one right now and honestly? I dont think-as far as how good the screen looks-that its that bad compared to my IPS wide colour monitor.

    excluding the refresh rate, this thing actually have better color gamut and response time and contrast ratio than my laptop panel. Considering its only 120 bucks i dont think anyone can go wrong with this as a gaming monitor. you use it indoors in a non mobile placement so bad viewing angles and brightness isnt really an issue and while its on the weaker side with colors, its perfectly okay for gaming.
