TV with USB Playback on media files

Hello Ozbargainers,

im sure there are some tv experts here, and i am looking for a Tv with USB playback on .avi .rmvb .mkv. All i know of is Samsung has a few tv's with this function but im not sure which series and im wondering if there are any other tv brands and models with this function.

Also, im not that into plasma and LCD, and more into LED.

And the cheaper the price the better.

Look at maybe 42"+

    Personally I wouldn't bother with such a thing in a TV, as you can be sure that it'd have limited codecs and might not play all files… especially in the future. Why not just buy any TV and get a small media player for $50 or so… or better get a networked media player so that you can stream movies etc from an other computer, server, etc elsewhere in the house?

    The "LED" TVs commercially available are LED-Backlit LCDs. They use LED instead of Cold Cathode (fluorescent) tubes for screen illumination. The two technologies to compare are Plasma and LCD - as a general rule Plasma is cheaper, better quality image but not as good in bright light, and uses more power than LCD.

      llama, unfortunately LED backlit TVs have been marketed in a very confusing way. When we do get LED TVs everyone will be even more confused.

    i'm 90% sure my tv plays .avi and .mkv, not sure about rmvb though. do you want me to check? It's a samsung 40"
