Food recipe service - essentially food delivery service without the delivery?

Hi guys.

We've been using Every Plate for the last 6 or so weeks and really enjoying it.
The price is right and the food is nice, but most importantly, the convenience is great as I don't need to scour the internet for hours on end for recipes for the week.

However, we are finding the food is not as healthy as we'd like.

The reason we went with a food delivery service is more around having the meals and recipes chosen for us - i'm not too worried about doing the shopping itself.

So, does anyone know of a subscription service where they build the recipes for you to choose for the week, but don't actually provide the food?
My wife used to do Michelle Bridges which was similar to what we are after, but we found the range of recipes was never updated.

Thanks

taste.com.au has Coles integration. So you can add the ingredients to your online trolley automatically. It's not optimized to select the correct quantity of ingredients across multiple recipes. For example, if you want to make 2 recipes that each need half a broccoli, you are going to end up with 2 broccoli instead of 1.

I guess my problem with taste.com.au is it is just any recipe and doesn't take nutrition into equation.
I'm more after a more select/exclusive curated list of recipes.

So pretty much exactly like my weekly server where I select the recipes I want in the portal, without the food delivery itself (as health food service = expensive).

I agree that its hard to find quality recipes on Taste. Maybe investing some time in learning how to cook instead of scouring the internet might work in your favour. Quality cookbooks by accomplished chefs are (in my experience) a far superior option. If you're looking for easy options, I believe HelloFresh publish all their recipes in the app. You can probably just grab those and buy the correct ingredients. If you're super concerned about nutrition, you might be better off seeing a nutritionist than getting pedantic about recipes and exact ingredients.

    • Just wondering, do they charge more or choose the more expensive ingredients? I wouldn't really trust someone else to be putting the ingredients in my basket if I can probably get it cheaper if I choose the ingredients myself. I'm fine using home brand products.

  • Hi,
You might consider a Nutritionalist (or maybe look online for such services) who will work with you and consider your food likes and help develop a menu plan.

I think MyFitnessPal might have a meal planner including recipes in its premium subscription . Definitely ticks the nutritional box for you. Also I'm pretty sure there is a free 30 day premium trial so worth a look at

  • You want to search for "meal planners". Many are usually app-only, so also search the app store as they'll offer free trials.

If you want it to spit out the meals for you I have heard good things about EatThisMuch, Mealime, Back to Basics (made by a nutritionist in Sydney), Workweek Lunch and Fitness Chef.

One that I like that lets you pick and choose and also add your own recipes, or any recipe you find online is Whisk. You have to create your own plan though, so might not fit the brief.
