Even at this price, this is still a difficult mic to recommend. People have just kept recommending this mic without actually looking across the price point.

A better spoken word mic would be the Mackie EM-91C for the same price: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B083MXSC7Z/

  • I use this mic for vocals as well as YouTube videos and audio calls. It's a really good microphone, I have the same XLR variant as well. This is a good deal for a high quality condenser microphone.

  • What connectivity do you need? can you connect to PC via USB for Zoom calls for clearer audio?

You will need some sort of audio interface with an XLR input. I used an older model of this interface for years and had no complaints, but I know some people prefer other brands.

      • Thanks @Muurky, will a simple XLR to USB cable do the job to use it as a straight up MIC for Zoom Calls?

Unfortunately it wont work - this microphone requires phantom power so a simple XLR to USB cable wont work. An XLR to USB setup that has phantom power seems to run you around $30-$40 online but I haven't done the research outside of a quick google just now.

You would be better off searching for a mic that uses USB if you are looking for a simpler/possibly cheaper solution. IMO something like a Blue Yeti (doesnt have to be this particular model though) when on sale is a good place to start.

Have a look at Razer Siren X and mini deals posted here. Both of these are simple USB plug and play microphones.
