I know there is alot of hate on Cyberpunk, I tried to play it on PS5 at launch and it was horrendous. I got a refund and bit the bullet on PC, I must say it plays well on my RTX3070 , im only 10 hours in but am enjoying it. Sure its not up to the Witcher 3, but its an enjoyable experience under $30.

"Cyberpunk after patch 1.23 Runs Great!"

    • +1

I feel like that was worth $30, that was hilarious

    • +2

That's mad I look forward to flying- they'll have to update patch notes

    • Lollllll

    • That's a feature

    • +1

      That was hilarious

  • I keep meaning to give it a go again. It must had l have had 100GB of updates since I last tried neared launch on PC. It was hot garbage back then on a 3080.

    • +2

Turn the settings down. I played at launch on a GTX 10XX. I ran medium, 4k dynamic (min res 80%). Smooth enough.

It has only ever been hot garbage on a 3080 if you ran at 4k ultra w/ ray tracing wo/ dlss, or if you expected 120 fps at 4k high. But then again, I played Crysis at release so I remember when Ultra was for next gen cards to prolong the shelf life of a game.

Yes, gameplay was buggy, but it was better than skyrim or fallout 3/NV/4 at launch. And unlike those games, CDPR has patched their game, not the community.

The only thing that has been hot garbage is the level of entitlement from the gaming press and a very small number of customers, who keep whinging about CDPR patching their game or developing DLC.

Seems it was hit and miss. Ran fine on launch day on my 3080. Not everything was at max, but it was very comfortable on a 1440p ultrawide.

      • Ran fine on my 3080 as well, but if I maxxed everything out then it would struggle.

      • -1

Sound constantly dropped out and it crashed once per hour. I was playing on 5120x1440, close to max settings with DLSS 2.0 and RT enabled.

  • What resolution and detail settings ? Decent fps ?

  • Will a 1080 run this well at 1440p?

    • +2

Yep, runs fine using the GeForce Experience recommended settings.
Most options get set to "low", but even on low, this game is gorgeous.

    • +2

Probably, I get 50-60fps on medium @1080p on my gtx 1070

      • That's not too bad. I can suffer 40fps for a bit of detail at 1440p I guess.

      • Good to know, I also have GTX1070 and I was wondering if this game is even playable on 1080p resolution.

But having said that, I don't think I will buy and play this game at this stage.

    Waiting for the Epic giveaway

They only give away good games

  • it gets boring really quickly but at that price, I think it's ok.. unfortunately, I pre-bought it at a much higher price… :/

  • +3

Played this when it first came out on max settings on 3070 and 1440 res and it was sweet. Great story and amazing graphics. Sure there were some bugs but nothing that made the game unplayable.

    • Impressive that it ran better than a 3080 at launch, going but other comments above

      • Higher resolutions kill this game, I play at lower resolutions with higher settings, it looks and runs great. Trade off is a little blurry but it is worth the trade off to me.

        • +1

There are likely one or two settings that whack performance without people realising.
I have a mate with a 3090 and 5950x, he played it at 4k and mentioned it ran fine about a month after launch.

  • 12.29 too much

    • I’ll be waiting a decent while before I play it.

      • -1

We played on a PS5 and regardless of the technical faults, the world / story is just 1/4 of what Witcher 3 is.

This game should be sold cheap.

  • +6

Says -72% when you click through. Is that its review score?

    • -72% off the price, GOG reviews is 88/100.

      • Yeah I don't trust review scores after playing this game at launch and not seeing a single reviewer at least mention technical issues with it nevermind all of the other stuff.

        • Find better reviewers. Every review I watched covered the technical aspects extensively.

          • @Richard Wagner: I don't watch reviews, I read them. I've never had the time to both play and watch games I'm afraid. I hop onto metacritic and read a few critic reviews, on release I don't recall any of the reviews I read giving this game a bad rap for technical issues or not delivering on promises.

I’m 60 hours in playing it on PS4 Pro, largely smooth experience. A couple of crashes all in all that didn’t really matter, and sometimes the graphics take a bit to fully load. Totally playable though for me.

    • Same here, though had a lot of crashes early on (one every couple hours or so?), but rarely happens now. A very enjoyable game for me personally.

Good game, great game on pc.

Has its major issues in gameplay design let alone the bugs on console and glitches in pc tho. Is a far better game now then it was at lunch

    • +1

      lunch

      • +3

yeah that last few hours done wonders for the game bro

    • Bugs might be fixed but the game design is a mess overall

  • I'll wait some more
