Been keeping an eye on this rice cooker. Not the cheapest it has ever been (zfishies found this for $110.25 in May 2020), but it has hovered around $150-170 in the past few months.

Comes with a Steam Basket, Rice Scoop, Porridge Scoop, Measuring Cup and Scoop Holder.

There's also a 10-cup version for $139, but it has been that price for a while I believe.

Enjoy!

EDIT: Also available for $109.73 at MyDeal.com.au - and you can stack with a $10 sign up credit (credit goes to kiwiinsyd and lmoh97)

        • Cool, thanks. Just seemed odd that the higher capacity version is so similarly priced.

    BEST RICE COOKER DEAL

Boil in a pot of water

    • Yes, 100% agree with this comment.

Boiling in a big pot of water is: quicker, easier, less clean-up, less storage space and most importantly actually cooks good quality rice with separate grains.

At what point do you replace a rice cooker? I just noticed the bowl on our old Tefal rice cooker is pretty scratched, but it still cooks good rice. Do you generally stop using it when the bowl starts getting scratches?

    • are you afraid of metals or other chemicals leaching into your food?

    • Do you replace your saucepans or oven trays when they get scratched?

  • Would this rice cooker do coconut rice well? Despite what I said just above about my Tefal cooking well, it doesn't seem to like trying to cook with heavy coconut cream in it.

Brown rice takes 2 hours to cook………2 HOURS.

    • Does it taste good?

      • I will tell you soon

        • Pls tell me.

          • @OhNoUShiz: I feel asleep waiting for it to cook.

The keep warm feature kept it warm but it is now dry and crunchy. Eating raw rice would be more pleasurable.

    • Ouch… that's far too long
