I have a few Quiksilver e-gift cards (up to $250 worth) and discovered there is nowhere to input my gc number in their online checkout. I contacted Quiksilver who informed me that they have re-platformed their website and removed the use of gift cards. Not only this, but I am unable to check the balance of my cards either. After expressing my disappointment I was told I can still use my gc in store. However, my nearest Quiksilver store is 2.5 hrs away and not an option for me.
They then 'kindly' informed me that in this case I could use my credit card to purchase the items online. I could then contact them letting them know I had a gift card and they would get their team to look this up and check its expiry. Once verified, they would then process a refund for my card and cancel the gift card. In addition, any amount remaining would be forfeited (thus must use the full value at once). To me, in this day and age of technology, it appears as if they are going backwards, not forwards. It seems a long and inconvenient process to go through for both parties considering I was previosly able to: a) check my balance online, b) use any amount of the gc and c) spend the gc online. I also had around $25 in store credit on my online account which I cannot seem to find since the revamp of the website.
I started this post to let people know who are not aware that gift cards can now only be used in store. If you have had an experience with Quiksilver and wish to share it, feel free to do so. I am curious if there are others in this same situation that are annoyed at this decision. How are you finding Quiksilver.com.au?
*gc = gift card.
Probably a lesson to you to take your business elsewhere.
