Oral B Toothbrush Broken / Warranty

Hey guys I got an Oral B Toothbrush valued at about $60 from Woolworths a few months ago and it no longer holds charge. I've had a look at the warranty on Oral B's website and apparently I need to get it sent down to VIC from NSW and they can fix it and they will pay for return shipping.

Has anyone else had a similar issue, do I just have no choice and have to pay for the shipping to get it fixed? If I go to Woolworths would they be happy to just exchange it for me? Probably not as I don't have the receipt.

I'm just asking because with my old Philips Sonicare I could actually email them and they sent me a refurbished one free of charge. Oral B has like no way to contact them. I literally have to have blind faith, send the toothbrush away and wait lol.

If anyone has experience with this help thanks =)

    Returning the product

You are entitled to return a product if you believe that there is a problem. You are generally responsible for returning the product if it can be posted or easily returned. You are entitled to recover reasonable postage or transportation costs from the business if the product is confirmed to have a problem, so keep your receipts.

Otherwise, you can DIY to replace the battery. It's not too difficult but you need the right tools (soldering iron etc) and a 18650 battery.

    • Damn what if I suck and threw away the receipt? Lol It was with some groceries and usually I don't try to return the fruit and vegetables back hah. Probably not luck aye?

Unfortunately I don't have the right tools =(

If you used your woolworths rewards card maybe it's tracked there?

You can view ereceipts for 14 months if you scanned your woolies card https://www.woolworthsrewards.com.au/ereceipts.html

      • I'd take it to woolies once you have the receipt. They will refund you or replace without hassle. Unless you are a frequent refunder.

        • Thanks mate. I'll give it a go, I didn't find the receipt but found the transaction on the credit card hopefully we can match it at the store.

  • Do you know roughly what date you purchased it? They can dig out the receipt from your credit card…

    • Thanks buddy. I managed to reverse engineer it from looking at ozbargains sales lol January 25 so hopefully this is the one. Thanks for the idea!

Just had a similar situation. My Oral B Smart stopped working (won't charge) exactly after 2 years of warranty period ending in May 2021. Approached the service centre in Vic and was asked to post it to a reply post address and that they would consider it under warranty! Posted, awaited a week and they mailed back a replacement handle. Email comm was fast and friendly. HTH!

I had this same experience. Shipped toothbrush on a Friday and received it back on Thursday repaired and fully functional.

  • My Oral-B rubber on the handle started to peel.
Sent it for a warranty claim and they upgraded mine from Smart 1 to Smart 5 model.

Including the time for me to send it to them and back to myself is around 1 week…
