Glen 20 Spray 300g + Pine O Clean Wipes 40s $4 @ Coles

110

Bought at Rowville, VIC. Possibly available at other Coles stores.

I use Glen 20 quite often and have never seen it cheaper than $5 (large can) on special. Picked up a few of these from Coles Rowville last night for $4 each.

Great value considering it also comes with Pine O Clean disinfecting wipes. If purchased seperately, the price for both items would be over $10.

  • Bought at Innaloo WA today for $4

You bought Glen 20 at Innaloo . Seriously?

That's more the destination rather than the source.

      • lol. Idiot! rofl

Glen 20 is just aerosolised alcohol as a disinfectant. With fragrance added. Some of the other brands have unpronounceable chemicals instead.

A good price for the large can.

    • How does the pronounceability of the chemicals relate to the effectiveness of the product?

Move operations back to Australia then I'll buy it.

$5 is the cheapest I've seen it too. At $4 it has to come close to being just the price of the glen 20.

The wipes are handy for wiping over high chairs in public places, or trolley handles before popping bubs in.

  • Hardly a deal considering you can get the bottled version with a much larger quantity for cheaper.

And as ozbargainers, you should all be looking for the cheapest way to disinfect.

  • Just a thought about the ingredients of disinfectant sprays, after researching a year or so ago.
Glen20, Oust and Coles brand ingredients are all likely harmful to us. Woolies brand (Select Disinfectant Surface Spray/Ortho Phenyl Phenol) ingredients are much less harmful.
My opinion only so please research.

I think all brands are very effective to spray into the air to disinfect, in loo bathroom or when flus and colds are about. I leave the room until aired out.

    Off to Woolies.

    • Glen 20 is just ethanol mate. People drink that stuff every day until they are off their faces, yet you think its harmful to spray.

I believe the spray can Glen 20 does list only ethonol 60% w/w. However there are other ingredients included which are the nasties. It's not just Ethonol.
Coles brand is the same. It's definately not just Ethanol (but I believe it states it on the can). It is possible the ingredients may change over time, but don't be fooled by the lack of disclosure by some manufacturers.

Research it as I did (extensively last year) and you may (or may not) conclude that the Woolies brand is much safer around the home.

        Please look it up.

    • You mad bro.
"Ortho-phenylphenol (OPP) and sodium ortho-phenylphenate (NaOPP) are pesticides used commercially in the food industry that have been shown to be carcinogenic to rat urothelium." Can't see that being less harmful than ethanol…

Fair enough, but reseach and medical opinions I read through into OPP (not NaOPP)regarding humans, not rats as opposed to the chemicals used in the competing products (eg. DS used in Oust) led me to the conclusion OPP was clearly less harmful.

See the reply to "unity1" regarding "lack of disclosure by some manufacturers" before ignorantly calling someome MAD or any other defamatory or insulting comment.

According to the product safety data sheet http://www.rb-msds.com.au/uploadedFiles/pdf/POC%20Glen%2020%…
the remaining ingredients are classified as non hazardous according to NOHSC. If there was something nasty in there you would expect it would have been declared.
