Is it worth playing the first installment of Divinity before playing this? Is there continuity between the 2 titles?
It's definitely worth playing Divinity Original Sin (which I think is not actually the first in the Divinity series, although it's the only other one that I've played) because it is bloody fantastic. I don't think it's necessary to have played it before 2 from a story point of view, though. I played it a couple of years ago and can't really remember anything of the story. I've just recently started this one and it seems to be fairly separate. I certainly don't feel like I'm missing anything despite not remembering the details of the story from the previous game.
I played this without playing the first and still thoroughly enjoyed it. I played the first afterwards and probably would have gotten into it more if I hadn't already played the sequel.
This is set much further in the future I think also, so I didn't see any references to #1.
I want to say 1000 years after the first? Don't quote me however as I could be getting my games mixed.I didn't play the first but my friend did. There were a few things he had to tell me but they're not necessary to play the game.
EG. Bracchus Rex is the villain of the first game (there's a few refereneces to him through the game)
Yeah I did this a week or so ago after missing out on the steam special.
I now have 159 hrs of play time in DOS 2. I'd say it is well worth the $23 here. Lot of entertainment for not a lot of money.
Definitely worth doing at least get two play throughs for most people. First one on Classic mode to get a feel for how it all works and what builds work. Then step up to Tactician mode once you have a good idea how to min max things.
There are a lot of these games that I'd love to play more than once, but they just chew up so much time that I can't really dedicate the time to go through it all again while other games pile up in the queue. I'm getting old and there are a lot of games I'd like to get through before I die! :P
Such a good game! Split screen local is awesome
$4.34 on the Russian GOG if you're that way inclined. UrbanVPN in Chrome. Just got stomped a few times in the Eternal Aetera encounter. She's a feisty one.
Incredible game with a massive amount of content, I paid full price and I'd do it again.
Currently on my second playthrough to experience all the stuff I missed.
If you're on the fence, absolutely pull the trigger.
