just to let everyone one that that the company that took over the company has gone into liquidation

( as discussed on a previous post )

no more balloon flights …

please e-mail scoopon to request refund

main point of this topic though is

shouldn't scoopon email or contact customers automatically to let them know this

not wait til people try too book and get told the bad news

a friend got 10 scoopons which he hadn't used, so he e-mailed scoopon and
they replied straight away saying sorry and we will refund you straight away - which was suprising

but i really think that they should be pro-active and let people know ….

    They should be proactive, but I don't know if they know which scoopons have been used and which ones haven't.

    Absolutely, that is what any decent company would do! What would you expect though, Scoopon = COTD :. dodgy!

    Here is a couple I think were completely dodgy, because notifing customers could not result in dodgy claims by voucher holders.

    1. Scoopon - Fiorentina Bakery. Closed one of two locations. Why were voucher purchasers not informed?

    2. Cudo - The Herdsman closed the downtown location. I went and parked specially to go to this shop. I called and they said I could use it at the Wembley location. Great. More selection. When I got there, they honoured it, but refused to give me the $10 voucher for the second visit. They told me I was lucky to get the voucher honoured in the first place, they were doing it out of the goodness of their hearts. Cudo should have notified all voucher purchasers of the new location and should have offered a $10 cudo credit because The Herdsman reniged on the deal.

  • i don't see why they would want to be proactive considering they get to keep the money if they don't

    immediate refund is not surprising cos if they didn't there would be more of an uproar and more people will notice they too should get the refund. Let sleeping dogs lie. Or cash cows

    • Maybe they might realise that the industry has changed and their reputation is worth more if they do the right thing.
