I am in market to buy Rav4 hybrid 2wd cruiser auto. I know the time is not the best to buy a car right now but I need a car within 6 months. Please advise if you got a good deal in Victoria? I would like you use that as a reference point before I walk in showroom? Thank you

I think it is supply as well. I read Toyota assumed 2/3 of buyers would choose the petrol version, so they needed to catch up. With COVID interruptions and chip shortages, it could be a while.
More than that. Car came out in May 2019 (before Covid). By the end of June 2019, stock on hand was dried up and went out to a 5 month wait, and stayed like that till around August 2020, when they caught up by taking other countrys' allocations
Microchip shortage is only part of the reason of the delay. These are popular vehicles and demand has far outstripped supply
Just pray they change there mind and release the plugin prime version in 6months? Cruiser is 3 years old
This model is 2yrs old. Still fresh
They did a feasibility study for the Prime and I believe it would've had to sell for $70k+ so they scrapped the idea
New Mitsubishi outlander Plugin is expected early 2022, so is a chance prime may still come.
I got my 2020 Cruiser 4WD in 7 months from order.
Beats the 14 months I was told by dealership.

2019 I would have a thought getting off at least 7k off the price and I would have got it@[Deactivated]: Just because it isn’t a brand new model doesn’t mean people aren’t buying them. Most people buy a new car when they need/want rather than only when a model is brand new.
RAV4 is in very high demand, wait times are in the order of 6months. You won’t get a lot of discount, some people are probably offering higher because they want to jump the queue. Fleets are buying them for ‘green’ credit. Demand isn’t going away.

For example, there are corollas and camrys that have gone up in market value or the price hasn't changed since 5 years ago. A 2015 corolla with 50k was like $16,000 at the dealership 5 years ago and that price hasn't changed at all and it may have gone up to $18k at the dealership.@[Deactivated]: At least $7k off?

If you want it in under 6 months, you'll probably be paying over RRP, not under@whitelie: Well, I bought Mazda 3 sp25 with 4k off the price at that time in 2016. At that time Mazda was a hot car. But Toyota maybe different game in terms of negotiations in price

Nearly all models have more demand than supply which would have been the opposite back then.
I am willing to consider Kia Sorento GT line too but apparently it's also over 6 months wait

I paid full RRP in 2019 when it first released. Demand was so high they wouldn't give out discounts. I bought the GXL Hybrid 2wd because it was the only 1 left in stock for delivery. Everything else was a 6-12 months wait.
I paid $47k for my Cruiser 2WD (no extras) in Jan 2021 (RRP was $48.3k at the time), took over a cancelled order so only had to wait 2 weeks.
If you need the car within 6 months guaranteed, the best way to do this is to take over a cancelled order, otherwise with the way Toyota allocates your order with their waiting system, you might be left hanging. But you'll be paying for the privilege of doing so.
I walk past a Toyota dealership on the way to work, they have a used Cruiser AWD Hybrid on sale with a sticker price of $54388. It's done 30,000 kms. The RRP for a new one is $51.8k. I know that sticker price should be negotiable but I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it.
I paid $47,200 for a hybrid Cruiser AWD including premium paint and a few accessories (RRP was $51k ish). Before anyone jumps on me, dealer got nothing else from me - no trade-in, no finance.
I ordered in mid-Jan 2021 the weekend after Brisbane's covid lockdown, got the car at the end of April.

I called motorcout and they offered me 47000$ for 2wd hybrid cruiser. So obviously they can do better
Last year I paid $44k excluding rego and SD. Cruiser Hybrid AWD.
I paid 44.8k drive away in June - full RRP. The reason I was happy with that, is that I got the car in 5 weeks instead of 6-12 months.
Any Sydney dealers offering discount on 2022 hybrid cruiser? TIA
RAV4 + Hybrid = RRP
Demand had been outstripping supply for the RAV4 Hybrid models from the date of first release and add the supply shortages into the mix, the dealership has no need to offer you any special deals to sell a car. If you are lucky you will have delivery in 6 months and consider that a win as I have heard of buyers waiting for up to 1 year.
