Only need 2GB and just need it to be able to store some photos or videos.
I have seen them from as low as $5 but not sure if its what I need. I think my camera the Nikon coolpix S3100 takes SD cards.

That camera does indeed take SD cards. The options left are size and speed. Size will very on your quality settings and number of photos you want to store. As your camera can only take one photo every 0.7 seconds, any card should work acceptably for photos, high res video may need something a little faster.
