  • Try Amazon

  • Do avoid ebay. I bought one cheap and it was shipped from the UK.

But it loooks like fake. The quality is actually very good but the printed brochure looked dodgy (colours were all washed out) and the colour scheme didn't match anything on Vibram's website.

    • i dont mind it being fake if i pay fake price. and some of the colours are quite nice.
I dont know if they feel any different from real ones. I would hate to get horrendous blisters

ebay/amazon price are not that great after you pay postage :(

I bought a pair of trek sports from pinnacle outdoors for $159 which is about $20 more than some online price, but I know for SURE they are not fake and i have instant gratification.
They were discounted. I happened to walk pass just as I thought I needed a pair to replace one that is almost worn a hole.

Might want to give them a call and see if they are still happy to discount them for you.

      • Deal Extreme sell similar shoes for $32 including shipping. They might not last as long, but you can buy 5 for the price of one pair of Vibrams.

Plus… $150 for a pair of (what are basically) gloves? They're just leather and foam rubber ("EVA"), it's not like they're laminated Kevlar and Unicorn farts.

        • The fakes feel different. The rubber is different.
          Colours are nice.
I would use them for walking in. For running, I want the original.

  • I'm keen to, mine are starting to fray around the toes after a couple of years use.

  • According to Vibram's website, anything on ebay are fakes (unless it is a private person selling a pair they bought in the wrong size for example). Genuine outlets are not allowed to sell on ebay. I bought a pair of "KSO" direct from the US for about $60, but it cost $30 to get it here. They ended up being the wrong size and I had to buy a pair locally for about $130. It's pretty important to try them on to know your exact size, I used their sizing guides and formulas to work out my size, it got the length spot on, but it was 2 sizes too small because of the width of my foot and the height of my arch, which aren't too far from normal.

    • Agree with this, I managed to get the right size the first time but just to be sure I visited a bricks and motar shop to try them on.

Unfortunately the place I bought them from is no longer selling them, they had them on special for $90 a few months ago.

      Which type are you after?

    • endotherm - you mentioned that you purchased the KSOs direct from US for $60.

Which site did you use? If you used a freight forwarder, can you share which one as well? Thanks!

Been to so many stores which sell them for more than double the US price in AUS :(

      • It was direct from their site http://www.vibramfivefingers.com/products/Five-Fingers-KSO-M… but it was during their sale, last years colours were about $20 cheaper, I notice they are back up to $85 now. When I said $60, it was from memory, and with the strong Aussie dollar at the time I might have been out by a few dollars so it was a round figure. I used PriceUSA as the forwarder, I combined shipping with some other items at the time so the freight cost is an estimate based on the proportion of size/weight. They sort of did me a favour by just sending me the shoes without a box to save shipping, but I couldn't exchange them without the box (it would have been way too expensive to return them and have them sent back anyway). Still, I budgeted for around $100 landed at the time, but I think I was fortunate to have got them a bit cheaper as it was clearance time/end of season.

  • thanks for the suggestions guys. im really liking the Bikila types and i have had a look at the adventuremegastore.com.au and find they are quite pricey at around $180.

would this be the cheapest rate for these vibram shoes?

  • I got a pair of Fila Skeletoes 2.0 from DFO near Brisbane airport for $50 during the Christmas sales. They're my first pair of minimalist shoes so I can't really compare them against anything else in terms of comfort/usability. But going through the reviews on youtube, they're apparently not a bad way to get in to toe shoes.

Unfortunately, the US site doesn't ship outside America so…

  • I was goigto get a pair too at 50 bucks, but after I tried them, the first thing I thought was. These are not vibrams.
