  • Is it just pot luck what wines you get?

    • It was previously; some appeared to do better than some others

    • +14

No. It's pot noodle you get with the wine. Haven't you flown first class?

  • +2

    Thanks op
    Got one - impulse purchase

    • Wish they let you choose the size of the pj

      • Those are the only 2 sizes (ever). The M/L wears like a L. The L/XL wears XL.

I got first class last time, wasn't worth it better saving up the points for flights imo

  • +1

    Doesn't include postage costs

  • +6

These points is one way economy flight.

    Am I missing something?
Some wine, PJs and toiletries for $100? ~10,000 pts

    • +1

This is just for the Av nuts who want to pretend they are onboard a longhaul flight - and a way to extract some points from them

    • +2

9950 points is ~$50 value in gift cards if you aren't flying anytime soon with Covid. Not an amazing deal but not a terrible one either.

    • Yeah, this is better spent on a gift card imo. That's where all my frequent flyer/other assorted points have been going since this whole covid mess.

I can finally complete my MSFS 2020 passenger experience

Business Class wines are traditionaly average on Qantas, so not sure this is worth it.

  • I bought many wine bottles last time, does anyone know how to sell them? Or donate? I don’t really want to store many at home. Thanks.

    • U can donate them easily here at ozb. Just advertise it for free in the classifieds and they be taken in a matter of seconds.

      • +1

are you sure about this? is it legal to advertise without an alcohol license?

is it legal to advertise without an alcohol license?

No, not permitted by law. Best to contact your local sporting or community club or just regift at Christmas time!

          • @neil: I thought so too, thanks for the advice.

    • Find an organisation in your local community and ask if they have any upcoming events; most would gladly accept your donation (perhaps as raffle prizes).

    • I accept wine donations into my mouth

    • if you are in Victoria and with Covid lockdown, use one by one.

combine this with a front loader washing machine or toilet seat looking out the window and you can complete the at home experience!

  • can we buy the pyjamas separately? not really a good picture there

The PJs are very poor quality, nothing like the ones Etihad used to hand out.

I just threw out six pairs brand new. I used to take them on business trips to sleep in hotels and then just throw away before I'd leave. They're not worth the cost of the laundry.

      • +4

        Oh gosh… This guy :/

      • I'd disagree. I have First Class ones from both Qantas and Etihad, and Etihad's quality is quite meh (both old and new ones they use) - they disentigrate fairly quickly in the wash.

  • +1

I have these PJs, they will loosen up after a few washes and the material is very thin as well.

  • +1

I got a few of these last year. Wines were ok - $25-$30 x 2 bottles plus jim-jams.

For the price here its not bad

  • Why did I buy this?

    • +6

Because you didn't read the comments.

      • I think my brain made some assumption that it was the previous first class pack.

  • +4

So the government's vaccine rollout is so slow you need to pretend you are able to travel again from your living room?

Weeeeeeeee I am on plane weeeeeeeeeeeeee (profanity) scomo weeeeeeeeeeee

  • +1

the pajama pants have no pockets :(

    • Really?

Can anyone else confirm this because the the first class PJs have pockets.

      • they do not have pockets. :) but they are soooooooooo soft and comfy.

      • I have both. Business doesn't, first class does.

Remember for something like 11,000 points, you can upgrade to domestic business at the lounge if there's availability. Save up for that if you fly. Mind you, domestic doesn't usually come with the goody bag, but you can ask and they may have them on hand. Worst case is they'll give you a Joey Magna Doodle ;-)

  • Pull the trigger so quick and regret it now. Should of buy some weber stuff instead…

  • I think the Virgin Australia Business class PJs are better. They are thicker which works well for Melbourne winters and they wash really well. Mine have been going for about three years and they still look like new.

    • How did you get them?? I travelled in business class with them but probably not long enough lol short flight

      • In 2017 I got an around the world virgin business class ticket for, roughly, $3500. Two legs were virgin Australia and two were virgin Atlantic. I got a set of sleepwear for each leg.

Just double checked it is, actually, the virgin Atlantic that were the good ones not virgin Australia.

        • Oh was that the amazing deal they did a few years ago with 3 stops? Still kicking myself for not booking that (had just travelled for over 6 months and just started a new job lol ugh)

          • +1

@blueyez: We couldn’t believe the deal. I saw it on Ozbargain and we booked the same day. We thought there would be a bunch of caveats but it was the real deal. We still have the echos today because my man still has Virgin Gold level, and will do until September next year. (There were a couple of other trips that kept it going but it started with this one). One of the “too good to be true” deals that just turned out to be true.

            • @try2bhelpful: Ah that's amazing! I hope they bring it back every few years for the rest of us who missed it, highly unlikely in covid times

              • @blueyez: They brought it in to “advertise” the Virgin Hong Kong and LA routes. I think they might have, since, dropped them; so it doesn’t look good. I wish I could luck onto something like that again. I would, certainly, jump at it. Frankly I can, probably, afford standard business class but I can’t justify it.

                • @try2bhelpful: Could always hoard Virgin points via credit card bonuses hehe
