    I think putting that note at the bottom is a bit much. From reading into it it sounds like yes, VentraIP stuffed up an acquisition / customer migration in a pretty major way. But to suggest that this has any bearing on their reliability, use for critical services, etc. on an ongoing basis based on one poor user experience is inaccurate imo and potentially defamatory.

    Full disclosure, I'm a VentraIP customer and have had only good experiences with them. Customer support has been great and prices competitive.

    • thanks, removed. was a copy-paste from a comment i referenced

      • I have used Zuver/Ventra for Almost 10 years now for cpanel domains+email server.
        Never had any issues and customer support is always very quick and super helpful if you ever need help trying to set up something or to get a configuration correct.

  • got this last deal. pretty good for a domain

  • I am trying to get the domain PA.com but it comes up as not available.

      as per the deal
      Domains available are:
      * com.au.
      * id.au
      * org.au
      * net.au
      * asn.au

  • Thanks Op! I just got one domain name to play around. Couldn’t get .com.au as it needs an ABN and I don’t have one. So just got what I could get. But now, I can’t do much. It is asking me to pay for everything. Am I missing something? I know a lot of free web hosting sites provide free cPanel etc, but this is asking me to pay. Is there a way I can build my own website without having to pay for it ? I know it will probably be limited, but still, right now it says my domain is active but I cannot even reach it from my browser.

    • Hey mate, sorry, can't help you as i haven't bought one yet. If you refer to hosting, i believe this can be extra if you wanna host on their servers. Alternative is to use forwarding. I would suggest going into documentation/RTFM section, this generally solves most of the problems

    • Yeah unfortunately you've only bought a domain name everything else cost money unless you go elsewhere for those solutions. You can cobble together some services for free to build a website and get email.

      For example downloading a static bootstrap theme and deploying it to Netlify. Other options include Google Sites and Tumblr and there's always people offering free web hosting not something I would normally recommend but you can find it.

      And then for dedicated email if you're okay with some limitations Zoho Mail.

    • Just use Google sites. Design your site and then go to settings/custom domains and it will tell you how to set it up

  • Good deal. Just used and still working well

  • It's been a while since purchasing a domain but want to ask if I'll face problems moving to a different registrar. Given this is a free deal, can I still get the domain transferred password if needed?

  • Does this apply to .au domains as well?

  • Thank you.

  • I recommend their services. I run a small business named KuboLabs, specializing in web design, and I chose them as the hosting provider for my customer's website. Their infrastructure is reliable, and their support has been excellent.

    • Second this, I used to deal with this company with 100's of domains registered. Their support was excellent and never once had any issues.

      • Are used to deal with them as well, but they've just not been the same for many years now. Support levels have definitely dropped some of their promotions and tactics are questionable.

  • Which domains don’t require ABN, etc?

      Direct .au and id.au but your legal name need to be shown in the "Registrant" field and will be made public in WHOIS if someone wants to do a lookup on your domain. Privacy services are also not permitted however "Registrant Contact" and "Tech Contact" Fields can be updated with user based roles like "Domain Administrator" and "[email protected]" other contact information is not shown publicly.
