I got the Liebherr from them (US/main site but think it came from UK) a couple weeks ago. Box arrived inside another box (genuine Lego cardboard box 🤣) and in good condition. I'll buy from them again. It was about $150 cheaper than the cheapest I've ever seen on Aus sites.

    • That code for the Liebherr existed until a few minutes ago :( Was at checkout stage. Oh well, will wait for the next one.

  • Came to $407 for me with PayPal 👌🏻
Still a great price. Thanks for the post

Bought it during the last deal.

Box arrived in absolutely pristine condition (as did numerous other buyer's orders) contrary to the chorus line of Zavvi-detractors who constantly moan about damaged boxes.

I don't know how this urban legend started but it really needs to die; there's no more or less risk buying from Zavvi and getting a damaged box than there is when ordering from Myer, DJs, Target, BigW or other online sellers.

  • thanks for that. mine came in at 407 AUD as well.

  • Any issue with the colour inconsistency with Sian stock from Zavvi?

    • +1

That's a manufacturing issue with Lego, not a vendor issue.

Wherever you buy your Sian from at least some pieces will exhibit colour inconsistency/matching issues though it is a bit of a lottery as to how badly your set will be affected and which specific pieces will look off-colour. I've seen photos of buyers whose Sians had what looked like half a dozen shades of green all over them and others where only a few body panels/pieces were affected and it was mostly unnoticeable.

Lego have been well aware of the problem since the Sian was released but don't see it as an issue and their customer service reps continually copy-paste the same response to all reviewers who bring up the problem on the Lego S@H site:

      Response from LEGO SHOP
      2 July 2020
      Emily, Customer Service
I’m sorry you’re unhappy with the color of some of your LEGO® parts. There can be differences in color from time to time, but any variations should only be very, very slight. Due to manufacturing methods and differences in the way some pieces are made, it’s possible for slight variations in color. This is often more noticeable in brighter colors like the green in the Lamborghini Sián FKP 37. We'll make sure your feedback is sent to our team in charge of product quality.

It's also not the first time Lego sets have had these colour inconsistency issues, especially any sets featuring a lot of brightly-coloured pieces.

      • Thanks I thought it was being addressed with the newer stock?

        • I doubt it will ever be addressed. It's been a year since the Sian launched now and there has been zero official word from Lego on the matter save for a handful of replies by customer service reps on the Lego S@H site.

The same issue exists with the Bugatti Chiron, the Fiat 500, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and quite a few other light or bright-coloured Technic sets by the way; plenty of complaints about those online as well.

There are technical limitations in the manufacturing process of Lego as to how well certain pigments can be plasticised and how consistent the results are, and how they will vary with age, lighting and other factors; and I think this was definitely exacerbated by COVID-related production issues (e.g. different pieces of the same colour being sourced from different batches from different plants worldwide, whereas normally they may be produced at a single site.)

I just don't think Lego cares that much sadly to invest a whole lot of R&D into the issue for very little gain (having to re-issue dozens of sets with this problem would be quite costly).
