  • Is this a good price?

    • +22

      It's better than a $200 fine.

      • +3

        agree

        • +20

Stop being a numpty and wear a mask. Show you have more intelligence than the common house plant!

          • -3

            @incipient: Plus! for the muzzle

          • +4

@incipient: Shaming others won't get them on your side. Try again.

            • -3

@Spets: Thank you that is correct.

I see Coles and Woolies ALL shops DELIBERATELY people literally scrub and go and the support staff near the self billing counters LITERALLY stand next to you touching you, it happened most days for me, and when I request them, they don't even give space like 6 feet distance (Not even 2 feet distance), they rather stare lol.

Same with MOST customers, they walk scrubbing each other and some even cough, and NEVER stand 6 feet although its all marked well, they stand JUST NEXT to you, not even 2 feet gap. Sometime I request them. And all these without masks, they cough, stand next etc, this incipient will speak like a patient or mad scientist shaming others, if he is a man, let him go and change the woolies and coles world.

@[Deactivated]: All the more reason to wear a mask.

              • @[Deactivated]: Well done on explaining perfectly why a mask should be worn.

                • -1

@soob: Masks protect others from you, not you from others…

                  • @Slippery Fish: There are three main modes of transmission: airborne, droplet and surface. People who have it can be asymptomatic and therefore not aware they are infectious. Masks protect others from you as well as you from others.

Rip off, don't pay more than a dollar

  • The bundle with 3M already out of stock :(

    • +1

The 3M mask that comes with the bundle is too small anyway, IMHO. The ones I get last time I bought from them has very small elastic loop. Tried to wear it in a plane and it just kept on tugging my ear so bad. Had to switch to Qantas provided mask.

  • Victoria?

  • +8

By the time these guys deliver the mask mandate will have been lifted

    • ETA: May 31st

Mask Mandate: At least until Friday 4th June

    • they come via courier and its quick.. not aussie post

  • +24

Who at this stage in metro areas doesn't have a box of masks "just in case"?

    • +3

same people who are still panic-buying toilet paper in 2021

  • Thank you :)
Always good to have a box as a 'just in case'

  • +10

    Bought a box before.
The quality is bad, gives you zero protection, not even BFE 95%
It helps you to comply with the law and cover your face, that's it
But better wear something else on a crowded train

    • +6

can confirm the quality on these is pretty bad, had difficulty breathing, cheap material, have the whole box lying around unused

      • I was just gonna buy, then saw your comments, thnx op… so not worth it?

        • Depends, you have to weight your risk.
The law from 6pm today is mandatory mask indoors
I use it where it's very low risk, such as Coles at 10pm where literally no one is around.
But I won't use it on a train/bus, busy shopping malls or hosiptals

          • @AsukaST: Thanks for sharing - thats helpful.
haha wow you have 999 comments.

Congrats on when you hit 1000 :)

            • @AussieMark: Are you trying to massage her lol; I mean buttering for attracting :D

    • +1

Isnt it the same with all the 3 ply non surgical masks selling everywhere?

    • +1

I have a different experience. of all the cheap ones I have purchased, these are definitively better. they come in 10 pack and easy to carry without opening in full.

  • +3

How does everyone in Vic not have a collection of reusable cloth ones now? I get disposable ones for workplaces. But for day-to-day mask wearing, why don't you have cloth ones?

    • -8

Where do you even begin with a question like this? It all started in 1901 when Edmund Barton became Australia's first Prime Minister.

      • +1

        cringe

        • -3

The conclusion was that people are garbage

          • +1

@King Steuart: You say this but I bet you arent following the best practice for mask use, such as not using the cloth mask for more than 1 day between washes. Places even recommend changing the mask every few hours too.

It's very easy to claim high ground, but its more difficult to prove you belong there, and usually most people who make claims about others are the worst of us all.

            • +1

@Astrom: I've yet to see anyone wearing a mask for more than a short period without constantly adjusting/messing with it, never mind actually using it correctly (disposable = single use, remove by the straps and bin immediately after wearing).

              • @SJDR: Hence why I said its easy to claim the high ground but difficult to prove you belong there.

I'm not claiming the high ground though, put whatever you want on your face, or not, I'm not your lawyer and I'm not giving you legal advice.

            • -1

@Astrom: You're so wrong I don't even know where to start. Wait, I know. It all started in 1901 when Edmund Barton became Australia's first Prime Minister.

    • +2

Show me a cloth mask that as cheap as these and we will get a collection

      • Bro cloth masks are like $5-10 so once you've used it 50 or so times you're saving money. Disposable masks used to be more expensive, so it's also worth considering the environment now, whereas perhaps you weren't previously. We have a separate washing bag that we throw them all in and they just get washed with our regular laundry every few days.

        • -2

Oh ok I use clothes less than 5 times wahing them each time before throwing away, compared to these which I use once

    • day-to-day mask wearing

      😂

      • Kind of sad when you actually think about it.

  • +4

There is a deal for P2 masks a couple of days ago for those who want higher level of protection. Stay safe. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/625182

  • Ah, finally I can make faces again without people thinking I'm a mad hatter.

    • +1

We do think you're nuts…but it doesn't have anything to do with the faces =P

      • My shrink says, it's all in my head, nothing to worry about 👀

  • cheers :)

  • This came up due to Melbourne outbreak? It always takes something to happen to see face masks deals mate

  • +1

When finished with these, please drop them into the specific recycling bins at your local Woollies (and maybe Coles too, if someone can verify?).

Pls don't send to landfill :)

    • +1

I didn't know that these masks were recyclable?

I'm gonna keep a lookout now for them when I visit the supermarket.

      • Yes I was surprised too.
But I'm happy to not contribute to landfill.

        • +1

Same but I think these would be good for some gardening or cleaning.

Nothing like getting toilet splash back or a spider in your mouth while cleaning.

  • Mask is back most popular bargain of the covid year.

  • -3

Anyone else waiting for the economy to crash?
pay no mind to those who inflate the dollar into oblivion..

The obedient always think about themselves as virtuous, rather than cowardly.

    • +3

Those wearing masks are thinking short term pain is acceptable for long term gain. What makes me angry is that my wearing a mask benefits you and yet "brave" folks like yourself won't return the favour.

  • -1

I can't get the deal to work it says order must meet minimum amount and I already put 2x quantity to check and still nothing.

Yes I did select afterpay so no idea why the code AFTERPAY10 won't go through.
