Tessa Furniture Quality and Comfort

Hi all,

Been looking for some quality yet affordable couches recently and decided to go second hand for better value. Got onto Gumtree and stumbled upon some Tessa armchairs/couches/sofas that look vintage with style. Does anyone own a Tessa who can comment on their comfort/quality? They are still a little pricey (>$1000) for second hand items (esp. when compared with other second hand couches from IKEA/Freedom/etc.) but I'm willing to pay the price if it's truly quality and comfortable.

I know that Tessa has stopped manufacturing but I'm guessing that's because there's less of a demand for their style of furniture? Their website is currently down so I can't even figure out how each model/line compares.

Thanks all,
H.

Sorry, I don't have a Tessa lounge but did find a price list on google… https://easterly.com.au/pages/tessa-furniture-price-list

It's Australian-made and seems to be highly regarded, with many people seemingly restoring older pieces, so it must be worth it. Unfortunately furniture is one of those items that is hard to sell as the cost of moving it often breaks the deal, but that also means you could probably knock a few hundred off easily.

I find that with furniture purchases, pictures don't do justice to the feel, so checking it out at the sellers home would be your best bet.

Thanks for the feedback and tip; you're right, furniture can often be gotten as a bargain when bought second hand — you just got to be patient and watch the market. Sometimes I just feel that older second hand furniture are often of superior quality compared to brand new at the same price.
