Saw this posted on MLN http://www.mln.com.au/product/?itemID=3499. Surely there is some sort of catch or reason why it's so cheap or am I missing some obvious fault in the laptop? I've heard mixed reviews in regards to MLN so not sure if it's actually worth the risk.
Asus Laptops at MLN. Too good to be true?

$1100 and no bluray?? Looks more like a $800 machine maybe?
bad stuff:
the 768p screen
2.9kg (!!!)i'd take the weight if the screen was 1,080p
i know the ram looks nice but do you need 16Gb?
Ah yes, forgot to mention the N series are quite heavy for their respective screen size.
E.g. N43 (14" little brother of the N53) weighs 2.4kg, which is a very common weight with 15.6" laptops.
Not sure what the fuss about the standard resolution screen is… Oh well, I guess it's like audio products, you never know what you're missing out on until you go premium :|
GT 540M (class 2 GPU) isn't exactly great for that price range, you can get an MSI with a GTX 570M (class 1 GPU) forwarded.
It's not that cheap really..
The N55 (newer version of the N_3 line) has been out for ages.
I personally like the look of the N53 more than the N55, but the N55 has better features.
Nothing special.
Anyway, I'm not going to buy anything from MLN regardless because of their unprofessional response in the forums + they're in Australia so they're bound to be more expensive.
