Might be a silly question but i am currently with Telstra and TPG and wanting to move to a home phone/broadband bundle with Optus and just wanted to make sure my Billion ADSL2+ Router would still work as i was told by the sales person that optus works through some sort of different cable (forgot what it was) and my modem may not work.
Main reason i want to change is because Telstra didnt activate one of the telephone ports in my computer room so i have to run a cord half way round the house to a different telephone port which is really annoying and was told it would cost around $100 to get a technician to have a look. So im hoping Optus will fix the problem when they install the home phone.
Any suggestions let me know! Thanks.
i assume you are moving from adsl -> cable. in that case, you will need a cable modem. if your router has an ewan interface then you should be able to configure it to go via the modem for internet access.
