IKEA RÅSKOG Vs Kmart 3 Tier Trolley

$49 vs $30 and slightly different design (including wheel size and the Kmart ones being lockable). No doubt Ikea were first, but this is not a reason to pay a premium.

Does anyone have experience with both and can provide a pros and cons.

    There's also https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/nissafors-trolley-black-6040736…

I use this in the garage and it's great. Depends on your use case.

Interesting, wouldn't have thought a <$50 trolley requires the brains trust for an opinion…

Go in store, size them up, feel the quality difference for yourself?

If both stores were nearby and convenient to access, otherwise there's a big time opportunity cost.

My rule of thumb is that generally Kmart stuff is lower quality than Ikea stuff. It might pass a casual inspection, but not the test of time.

To put it another way, in a few years time, when you are driving around the neighbourhood on hard rubbish day, there will be plenty of Kmart trolleys thrown out with wonky bits - broken wheels, bent shelves, flakey paintwork and the like. The Ikea trolleys will also be thrown out, but this will be because they are no longer in fashion - their trolleys will generally be intact.

but not the test of time.

I kinda put both into this camp, but yes agree kmart will fail first in most cases, but at nearly half the price, will two kmart units outlast 1 ikea one, that is the question?

  • I usually go for Kmart in these instances, purely because IKEA is a bit of a drive away but Kmart isn’t. Not only to purchase the item but if anything were to go wrong, it’s also easier to return or exchange.

    • My approach too. Only downside is these are popular and can be sold out of some; also I try to be sustainable first and buy a good quality one on Marketplace to reuse if available.

then go the ikea one if you want it now. You seem to be really overthinking this $20 price gap between products.

        • No, money not issue. I'm trying to be more sustainable and want to see if there are build differences.

  • Got the Kmart trolley as preferred the handles.

Well made, very sturdy & easy to put together.

Had to search for a local Kmart that had the white one in stock so looks like it's quite popular.

  • ikea one looked a bit nicer imo….nicer design better looking castors, wide colour range
