  • A trick when buying.

Display stock cannot be sold after 2 years of shelf lift. So if it's close to two years old, they will give you a discount ABOVE the sale prices. We got an extra 20% or 30% off.

The reasons is that after 10 years, a child seat becomes illegal to use.

Baby Bunting does not sell seats with less than 8 years left.

Our child will not need her seat for another 8 years - so it turned out to be an excellent buy.

    • Mind to elaborate further?

There is no way to know how long they have had the stock for. Therefore, can’t ask for that extra discount.. am I missing something? Thanks, appreciate your contribution!

Could be the manufacture date which should be on a sticker on the seat itself?

      • +1

There is a way - first they are every keen to move them so just ask.

Second - ever seat had a manufactured date sticker.

Usually they sell the display stock in this manner. Check the display stock

I'm confused. Why won't your child need her seat for another 8 years?

      • These seats are normally 0-4 age range

        • The seat from the post is 12 months
          - 8 years.

In either case. Why their child will not need a seat for at least 8 years?

          • @crackman: For one, the seat is 12months to 8 years (not exact, as it's by size not age, but it's a rough indication). That's 7 years max. So NO ONE would (should) use this seat for more than 8 years! :)

OP's kid might be even older than 12 months. eg. Coming from a 0-4 seat, they may only use it for 4 years (4-8).

Edit: oops, answered before seeing answer from OP below! :)

      • She's 3 and in 8 years will be 11

I'm taking child seats in general, not this specific model/brand

  • How does this compare to the Britax Millenia or Graphene? Is it front facing only?

    • +1

Yes this one is front facing only. Rated for 12 months to 8 yo.
Millenia and Graphene are 'convertible' seats so they are used rear facing until they outgrow and then convert to front facing. Rated 0-4 yo.

  • Some of place this car seat showing for$599

  • Heads up baby bunting has 40% off all car seats every now and then, the last one was not long ago.

    • Really? When was the last one?

Did it include their ‘best buy’ items?

      • Best buys are never included. Thats why this is a good deal, it being a best buy item on sale.

  • Infasecure Orbit Nexus better or this one

  • Just search in VIC its no stock anywhere…

  • These ones are half price right now.

How does it compare with Maxi Cosi Luna Pro?

    • Upto 4 years only

  • +1

Seriously don't buy this seat of you don't have to. It's extremely unsafe compared to the Infasecure Rally II which is on sale at Big W for $149.

If you're a parent then you care about safety
Check the independent safety testing here. It's like the ANCAP equivalent for car seats

    • Wowzers- the seat we purchased isn't highly rated but was one of the most expensive. Wished I knew about this site earlier :-(

Unless I'm missing something - the site lists all the "single mode forward facing" category seats as maximum 1.9. The convertible 4-8 years category goes up to 4.7 rating
