Their price is already higher before discount than most other places places including petbarn

As of now, the 12kg puppy dry food is..

      Petbarn @ $96.69
      Petcircle @ $90.45
      Best Friends @ $72.50

In normal days, Best Friends are also happy to price match any other stores. https://www.bestfriendspets.com.au/customer-care/best-price-…

I price matched when they’re cheaper elsewhere when there’s no discount without any issue.

    • Even with discount, Kitten 4kg bag is more expensive than from Pet circle auto delivery

  • Is this stuff any good. I got a trial pack of it and the ingredients seem to be filled with a lot of filler type products like corn and wheat

    • To be honest, I am unsure too but my breeder and vet both recommended this brand. My pup started with it too so I didn’t want to go through the hassle to change for now.

      • Definitely a great brand I feed it to my pup. I usually get my food from Pet O Warehouse or PetStock when they have a half price sale.

    • It is a brand with great marketing and gets pushed. But be very careful with kibbles and read the ingredients. If the top 5 or 6 ingredients contain multiple fillers, which IS the case for several in the Hills range, its clearly cutting too many corners. Is it still nutritionally adequate is not really the point when there are better quality ingredient alternatives.

      • Dogs have been using Hills for years and funnily enough, most seem to be living long lives. Mustn’t be too bad for them…

        • I'm not going to argue, i'm no independent nutritionist or done independent studies on the effects of these filler ingredients. It's your pet. All i am saying is ingredient lists are what they are, and there are competitor products out there with much less corner/cost cutting fillers that are higher quality. Anyone can spend 30 seconds reading the ingredients to make their own conclusions.

It definitely seems to be overpriced and overhyped.

I've been using this site to figure out which food to buy my dog. It seems to be working well.

  • I read a book years ago from the library called Raw Meaty Diet or something like that. Dogs and cats are supposed to eat meat, not corn or wheat.
