According to this article, Amazon has removed some sellers from the platform (including Mpower).

"Several accounts belong to the same parent firms, as it’s normal for big sellers, those with more than a million dollars in annual sales, to operate multiple brands on Amazon to optimize sales…In total, the suspended accounts are claimed to contribute over a billion dollars in gross merchandise value (GMV) to Amazon."

Amazon references “long-standing policies to protect the integrity of our store, including product authenticity, genuine reviews, and products meeting the expectations of our customers.” when asked for comment.
So, not specifically because they are from China.

    Seems mostly to do with the fake review problem. Good on them for taking action against it.

    I've got some Bluetooth adaptors that are branded Mpow. Is that the same thing is Mpower? If so, their products at least seem to be decent quality. Could they not fit their entire brand name on the product?

      Company behind Gearbest and company behind Mpow are both subsidiaries of a company that supplies trousers to Kmart and Target US. Quite an interesting tale of how those companies are falling apart.

    It's an issue that is both well known and rampant and is costing Amazon in terms of their credibility. Though it's strange that they ignored the issue for so long and have just started banning not just the stores that sell the brand, but also the brand itself.

    Join any Amazon FBA Facebook private group and you will see thousands of posts like these and these

    But in short — a lot of these never-ending private brands are being created overnight and all these brands compete with each other by employing some black-hat techniques to increase visibility and number of reviews. The more 5 star reviews your products have, the more likely you are going to be graced by the Amazon front page algorithm gods.

    Looks like they just removed RAVPower and Taotronics' listings, just checked out some of the deals here and they're all either 404ed or show up as unavailable

      Bit of a shame. I like Taotronics I find their electronics much cheaper than big brands and with a reasonable quality build.
