For this model, this warranty, this capacity - absolutely, yes.
That's a lot of money for 4TB of unshingled data. Considering you can shuck an 8TB drive from Seagate or Western Digital unshingled for somewhere between $200-210… albeit the Western Digital shingled drives need a Molex-to-SATA power adapter to work and you're taking a risk about what you get when you shuck.
These are NAS drives though, designed to run 24/7 typically in a raid.
The WD's you often get the Enterprise Grade Hitachi Helio drives though… I got an 8TB one of them for $200 shucked :)
For those who are willing to shuck and not have warranty, we get best the best TB to dollar value (I have an 18TB elements shucked). However, for many others, the value of warranty is far greater and hence will not shuck. This may be a reasonable option for them.
Better off getting the 12TB Red Pro for $549 (if WD NAS drives are your thing)

Not sure why OP states Red Pro no good for Chia? It's a NAS HDD as @Ryanek states, designed to run 24/7.
buddy, not to rain on your terabyte parade, but this is for NAS that requires high availability.
A shucked drive won't cut it. Don't care that you're getting more TB's per dollar, it doesn't compare.
Not good for chia as warranty will likely change to void if used for chia.

This is related to SSD wear limits. Most SSDs are rated to a maximum number of bytes written over the lifetime of the device. Hard drives are subject to no such hard limits.
Mining Chia on hard drives is likely to be slow - but a spinning hard disk will endure longer than a SSD. Storing Chia plots on a spinning hard drive should not put much load on the drive itself.

The key to NAS high availability is redundancy. With redundancy, then, you are concerned about the statistical likelihood of a dual failure which can lead to data loss.

im new to this but what is the difference between Ironwolf 4tb at $148 on Amazon vs Red Pro at $200? Both seems to be aimed at NAS.

Edit; jsut checked and the Ironwolf is not a pro model. That would be the difference, this is a Pro model, so higher grade. The ironwolf standard will be good for most people though.
Ironwolf (not Ironwolf Pro) have a shorter warranty and less MTBF / TBW per year from what I can recall (when compared to WD Red Pro)
