Someone Is Spoofing My Mobile Number

Hi All,

Lately, I have been getting calls from people saying that they have received a call from my mobile. However, I haven't made those calls and don't even know those people. Seems like someone is spoofing my number.

Is there something that can be done apart from changing the number?

      If you believe your number has been spoofed by a scammer, you should contact your telco immediately.
      Do not answer calls from unknown numbers and you can also place a message on your voicemail to alert callers that your number has been maliciously spoofed.

      Have reported it to my Telco and also put a message on voicemail about my number being spoofed.

    It's been going on for a while.

    The only good thing is that they will only use your number for a few days maximum and move on to another one.

    As these scumbags are based outside Australia there appears little can be done about it.

    I had the same thing happen to me for a week 3 months ago. It will eventually stop

    Although it doesn't help your specific situation, it does highlight a good reason for everyone to stop relying on regular phone calls and to try to encourage as many people in their lives to use something like Signal instead.

    I had this happened to me couple weeks ago. Had a few people call me, rung back and they all seemed normal and said they were just calling me back because I had called them.

    Did stop after about a week?

    I've been copping this lately too. Occasionally I get someone calling saying they missed a call from my mobile (personal not business). If they are polite, I'll let them know I didn't call and probably it was a scammer spoofing my number.

    I did have one crazy Karen who called up and DEMANDED to know who I was. I was like "You called me, you tell me who you are first". She refused. This end around in a circle for a while before I told her that she was rude for calling a number and not telling me who she is and how did I know she wasn't a scammer trying to get my identity and hung up on her.
