  • nice. too bad just bought a bike.

  • ffffff, why never XL left

  • Does anyone know if you can get a second hand equivalent with shimano 105 groupset. I don't want to spend this much as I am just a beginner.

      look on cellbikes.com.au

You wont find much with 105 for much less (unless it's quite old).

      http://www.bikes.com.au/c/4288442/1/under-1000.html

Often have good deals for runout models.

There is a balance between frame quality and components.
Better off with a decent alloy\aluminium frame as a starter with 105 components than a cheap carbon frame with Tiagra.

    • Try Reid Cycles. Their "Falco" bicycle sells new for $899 as uses the 105 groupset. You can pick it up in Sydney or else shipping is $55.

I bought the model below (Osprey) and I'm pretty happy with it. I'm just a beginner as well though so I haven't got too much to compare it to.

Very good price. Even Shimano 105 groupset is the price for the bike itself.

    • $80 shipping brings it to $1000 though :-(

Not a bad deal at all, although it's not a full 105 groupset, they have cheaped out on a lot of the components. Another great deal in a similar price range is this http://www.cyclingexpress.com/cycle/azzurri-imperia-elite.as… for $1050 + postage. It's not full carbon (has carbon forks and rear stays) but it does have the full 105 groupset and decent enough wheels.

Another for those looking for a larger frame, slightly heavier as not full carbon but cheaper at $899 and same 105 groupset. Currently out of stock but due in soon

  • What does size small mean? What age group or height could use this bike?

  • This seems like a good place to ask.

Ive been looking at getting into Triathlon and just need a relatively cheap 'beginner' bike.

Im right in 6foot tall but have no idea what size bike I would need.

If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great :)

Really depends on your body proportions (leg length etc.) but I would say you're a 56cm, 57cm or 58cm frame person (different manufacturers have different sizing available). I'm 5"10 and ride a 56cm frame (I ride a Focus Cayo 2).

As for "beginner" bike - what's your budget, i.e. what's "cheap"? Anywhere under $1k and you probably should be scouring the second hand market - I see well cared-for aluminium Giant road bikes all the time on Gumtree for less than that threshold (something like this - http://sydney.gumtree.com.au/c-Stuff-for-Sale-sports-bicycle…).

You can also pick up some really well priced carbon bikes from last year's range for around $1500ish - something like this perhaps - http://tbsm.com.au/bikes/road/road-race-training/focus-2011-… - obviously your choices open up more as your budget increases.

  • I would like to do more riding but it is just so dangerous riding among the cars and trucks. Just wondering any tips on safe track and riding.

    • We need to know where you live to answer that.

      • I will be moving to Box Hill, Victoria 3128.

        • Just ride down the bike trails which run alongside the eastern freeway…

why no GST? it's an Aussie website and GST is already included from what I understand.
But $1K for carbon frame and mainly 105 groupset (notice compact FSA cranks and brakes) is a very good price - you'll be hard pressed to find alu frame with 105 for that price. (eg REID FALCO )

    • My bad . For some reason I thought they were a NZ company .

      • They are!! The bike i ordered is coming from NZ as did the parts i ordered a fortnight ago. They have addresses in Sydney (and Melbourne too i think), but most stuff comes from NZ.

    I WANT IT IN XL

  • SOLD OUT

  • Glad most seem to like this bike
I got the last large frame last night :)

  • $919 yes you are right INSANE PRICE!!
