    My obligatory comment…

I recently finished a playthrough of all the remastered Yakuza games (and 6). I think 4 and 5 are the best storywise, and have a lot of variety in them owing to having multiple characters and arcs that all tie back together at the end. 4 is probably slightly better overall, though 5 does look better (owing to it being a late PS3 title originally). 5 also lets you play as Haruka, and her 'fighting' revolves around J-Pop and dance battles. I didn't mind it, but YMMV.

    • I loved the Haruka parts in 5 but the general consensus seems to be most people dislike them. I think people who play rhythm games appreciate it more. At least it's relatively short and is 50/50 Akiyama fighting too.

Yakuza has always had karaoke rhythm mini games so it was nothing new to me. I much preferred it over the hunting sections with saejima.

Crossed my mind that enjoying rhythm games (which I do) helped me enjoy Haruka’s arc. I also wish there had been more variety with the songs you had to play for the story. I skipped Saejima’s side missions completely, and the baseball ones at the end.

Also free on Xbox game pass. I'm currently playing Yakuza Kiwami on pc. Such a funny game. Kiryu-chan!?!

    • Yep, all the mainline games are currently on Game Pass which is how I played the remasters. Also worth noting that FPS Boost was recently added Yakuza 6, so all games on Series S/X run at 60fps except for Kiwami 2. For now.

I’ll probably be the only one here but I wish they brought dead souls as a remaster

    • Still holding on to my PS3 Steelbook edition….amazing how people are buying it for $150

      • $150?! I didn't know it was worth that much, I've got 2 copies of the steelbook (first one didn't have the plastic sleeve and it's for my Yakuza collection shelf!)

Not many people seem to like it but I thought it was pretty fun for a spinoff, as long as the bad game performance and sort of punk controls can be looked past.

    • Wow that was my least liked game. I'll have to check if I still have my copy.
