Are they seriously trying to make the Tare button a new and interesting feature?
My baking career really took off with the invention the tare function.
Any idea what batteries it takes? I am sick of scales using button batteries that die every month.
Edit: Appears to be 1xCR2032, so another button battery fail. How long the battery lasts must depend on the quality of the device's innards, because my Soehnle kitchen scales probably only need a change of battery (CR2032) once a year, and that's with use a few times a week.
I think my last kitchen scale must have been super cheap internals, as battery would not even last a month when I was not even using it.
Similar hate for my scales as each time I go to use it the battery is dead. Taken to just removing the battery between uses (which means using a small 'glasses' screw driver). Its a 'magic' turns on when you put something on it scale which means its always on.. and I tried storing it so nothing can knock it on..)
Next scale I buy needs to have a physical switch on it for sure.
are you waiting for kitchen scales with a rechargable li-ion battery or something?
Even just AA would be fine, cheap and easy to replace or use Eneloops.
They already make USB rechargeable scales
