I’m so glad I’m only in the office occasionally now and it’s casual wear all the time. I no longer have to wear business attire!
I would have jumped on this deal, pre-COVID

      Thanks for that useful information

    • +1

Yeah lol but I've been wearing my $22 TM lewin shirts casually, not tucked in and sometimes even on runs (not the white ones but the dog toothed and checked ones).

        true aye

  • A genuine question, as I don't know - 1.T.M.Lewin Vs 2.Charles Tyrwhitt?

    (And lastly, with 3.Van Hausen?)

    • +6

1 and 2 are similar; both a lot better than 3.

    • +4

1 fits me better than 2

    • +10

      In order:

      1. T. W. Liewin, 2. Charlie Trywhit, 3. Von Huesen.
      • +4

        It's actually RM Liewiams

        • +1

          No, those are from $220…

    • +2

As above dont get van heusen you’ll find them permanently on sale at your local Harris scarfe or DFO outlet. TM lewin is a great choice barring a tailored shirt, ideally you try on for size at a shop and go for the non iron variants

      • Probably a dumb question, but really do you need to iron the non iron shirts?
        Thanks!

        • I iron them before wearing them for the first time, and after each wash. Non iron basically means it won’t lose shape while it’s on a hanger.

        • +1

I still iron the non iron shirts. They are just easier to get the creases out and you can get away with drying on a hanger and it still being presentable

        • +5

I don't iron them at all. You just spin them at a low speed and hang them damp - they dry pretty much wrinkle free. If there are any remaining wrinkles your body heat will smooth those out.

They do lose this ability over time though (months), and will eventually get a bit wrinkly.

        • Yes you do need to iron them. They just don't wrinkle as easily.

        • +3

Depends what kind of a person you are. I have been wearing the ct non-iron shirts for years and have never ironed them (the reason why I bought them in the first place). If you like a crisp ironed shirt, then yes you will need to iron it. But if you are after a shirt that you can put on without most people noticing that you haven't ironed it, then it fits it's purpose. As others have said, using a slower spin rpm and hanging up promptly to dry in shape on coat-hanger helps a lot with reducing wrinkles.

        • I was them on the easy iron cycle and hang up straight away; have never needed to iron. A colleague pointed out the sharp creases on my sleeves, and I was quite surprised they're still there after a couple of years of never having ironed these shirts.

        • I only wear non-iron from CT or TM, and haven't ironed a shirt in 2 years.

Normal (cold) wash, hang on coat hanger to dry.

    • 2 fits me better than 1. So the fitting depends on body shape.

1 and 2 are better quality than 3.

    • I found 2 to be a better fit

    • Would have given 1 a try if they make sleeves shorter.

      I've got short arms…

    • TML>CT>>VH
I compared the measurements on TML vs CT and TML have a more V-shaped cut, while CT are a bit more straight. So depends on your body shape.
Quality-wise TML and CT are very similar IMO. VH is just no bueno.

My last order from TM Lewin in November never arrived. I contacted them and a few weeks later they sent me an email saying they're really busy so they have marked all queries as resolved without even looking at them. I tried to contact them a few more times with the same result. In the end I had to do a charge back. It was really disappointing because I'd previously worn them a lot.

    • +9

Same experience here. Had to ask for a refund as it wasn't dispatched 3 months after I purchased.

    • +3

Holy heck, what is that shit.

    • +6

Think this needs to be highlighted and get people's attention before other members order from TM Lewin.

    • +4

Similar reports came up on the last TM Lewin deal: see comments. Presumably the problems don't happen with every order, but that's quite a significant number of negative reports.

I do like TM Lewin shirts and still have a few in my wardrobe, but my last few orders have all been from Charles Tyrwhitt, which always ships my orders promptly (and with tracking).

    • I spoke to support and they said it was a courier issue at the time and they have sinced went with someone else for Australian deliveries so it shouldn't affect new orders - if this restores confidence.

It is strange however Paypal is no longer a payment option.

  • Fr $22

    Oui oui !!!

  • Still have barely worn the 10 or so shirts bought during last year's deals.

If I end up making use of one these deals it means I've gotten fat :P

  • +1

    $20 delivery for a $29.95 shirt, FFS
No option to pick up either.

  • OK. Been busy after this was posted. Now bought. Thanks OP.

The $20 delivery hurt - but I did find 5 shirts to buy so softened it somewhat.

  • +1

shipping hurts and only found 1 shirt for $22

  • How do I tell if these have pockets?

    • +3

      Check box
      With Pocket
      or
      No Pocket

      • Thank you!

  • +1

Haven’t seen the 3 for $99/ 5 for $149 delivered deals for a long time. Guessing this as good as it’s gonna get now? 🙁

    • This deal is technically better than 3 for $99

      • +2

Not for me unfortunately, for my specs the cheapest is $44 🙁

  • +1

Shipping kills it. Also, they don't have a store in Sydney (Australia?) anymore which makes any returns difficult. Luckily, I have enough TW Lewin shirts to last me a life time.

    • +1

T.M Lewin Australia has gone bust, any returns would have to go to the UK.

Just bought 4 shirts for $100 from their last "store" in Melbourne, which isn't actually owned by TM Lewin but a liquidator selling off the rest of the stock in Australia. Wish I held out for this sale, it has a lot better range (the clearance store has a lot of stock but the shirts only come in about 4 different colours).

  • +1

Haven't worn formals in over a year now.

  • +3

Refine by non iron, Fitted, size, cuff style. Aaaand we're at $44 a shirt plus shipping, with no Sydney branch for returns.

    Yeah, nah.

  • The shipping is such a deal breaker on this jesus

  • Used to be $10 for shipping, now its $20

Need to buy at least 4 shirts imo to make it somewhat of a bargain. They are way better than Van Hausen though which barely even qualifies as a shirt due to how thin the material is

  • Hi ,how to do choose size, 180cm, 74 kg?, Thanks

    • +2

      I'm about 180//70kgs.

      Slim Fit
      Collar Size (Inches/Centimetres): 15.5 in / 39 cm
      Sleeve Length (Inches/Centimetres): 34.5 in / 87 cm

      YMMV

      • lightweights

  • +1

Work said all the men can pay $100 and get 5 work t-shirts so you don't need to wear formals anymore. We said hells yeah!

  • Doesn't apply to non iron shirts. Do tm lewin non iron shirts ever go on similar sale price ?

  • +1

i thought TM Lewin went into administration

    • +1

Their Aus branch did. I'm guessing this is all stock shipped from overseas.

  • Cannot beat CT return policy.
It's a total breeze and awesome.

  • Why not make delivery $30? Just for the shits and gigs.
