Hey, any feedback on this model? Thanks In advance much appreciated

    • +2

It's a great dashcam - best in the price range for a duo. You'll find it cheaper than this occasionally but not by much. I'm still rocking the Viofo A119s V2 and it's doing great after 3 years service.

      • This one or the Garmin 66w?

        • +1

You won't find the Garmin at this price point. Stay with this if it's your first dashcam I would say.

          • @[Deactivated]: I found the Garmin at 280, I'd be happy to spend more it it's worth it..

        Thank you

    • Great dashcam system. I paid $137 though. Get the parking mode adaptor, well worth it. Caught a guy hitting my car while parked.

  • This one or the Garmin 66w?

I bought Duo plus for 202, no deal

    • +3

Only see $202 happened once in the last 12 month, I wouldn't hold my breathe too long for that

      • +1

True. I bought the duo plus the second I saw it was $202. I've never seen it go down tbh.

  • +4

Duo Plus was $202 delivered from Amazon a few days ago. I’d hold off on this for now.

This, plus look online for reviews and you'll see the video quality difference is huge between the A129 Duo and the A129 Duo Plus

    • how much is it now? can you link me please

      • $209.90 after $20 coupon, so actually same price but I'd prefer to deal with Amazon as far as returns/issues go instead of Kogan any day of the week.

Edit: Forgot that this is the Duo Plus so a no brainer for only $0.90 more than the regular Duo

        • +1

Isn't that the regular Duo and this is the Plus for $237?
I'd still take the Plus for an extra ~$30

          • @whitelie: yeh he said due plus was 202..

            • @striker5950: It was in a lightning deal the other day….Current price is $237

              • @whitelie: alright so is this better than the 70mai a800s model which is the new updated one that came out in feb, its way better priced, but idk much about dash cams i just need a front and back set. anyone know which is better bang for buck overall and has less issues if any?

                • @striker5950: The a800S does 4k 30fps (unsure what it does at lower resolution but I'd imagine can do 60fps)
The Viofo Duo Plus is 2K 60fps
The Viofo Duo is 1080p 30fps

All are 140° field of view. Rear cams are all 1080p

                • @striker5950: 70mai 800s when running dual channel is only 1080p+1080p, not 4k anymore.and they don't have the buffered recording like Viofo does, plus 70mai is losing all the auto parking accessories hardwire kit, Bluetooth remote etc..

    • I don't think the $202 deal will come back for the duo plus anytime soon. It was a lightning deal aswell on Amazon.

      • Came back this morning for a couple hours.

  • Think I paid 145 for this a couple of weeks ago, no feom kogan, not arrived yet though

This isn't cheap. Should be about $150.

  • Duo is ok but remember you're locked to 1080p @30fps.

For those who have commbank, there's a $30 cashback when you spend $100 at Kogan

  • How do these get installed? Is it just a suction cup to the windscreen? And what's the best way to wire it? My cars already a bit messy with my navigator and phone charging cable hanging about.

    • +1

Two-sided 3M tape attaches it to the windscreen. I run mine off a USB port but you can hardwire it to the battery with a separately sold wiring kit. Attach it near the rearview mirror, tuck the power cable under the roof-lining, run it down behind the a-pillar cladding, and then under the dash or carpet to the center console and USB port. I don't have a rear camera so can't help there.

    • I bought a fuse tap kit for it. It also gives you the options for parking mode. So when the car is off it still records in a low power mode eg low bit rate or time lapse. As mentioned above just run the wires above the roof lining and down the pillars etc. Fairly easy procedure. Might take you a couple of hours.
