Just a warning to those who picked up the Stockland Mall gift cards - particularly at Piccadilly in the Sydney CBD.
The gift cards need to be activated before they can be used. Both of my cards were not activated.
The gift card help line was unable to assist and said they had to be activated at the place of purchase.
I'll be contacting OurDeal about this and Stockland Mall Piccadilly. Hopefully I won't have to return.

It turns out that the $10 card was not activated and the other failed as an invalid transaction - possibly because the Cheque button was used instead of Savings.
They don't need to be activated. Swipe and put the pin in. That's it.
If the card is not activated, it can't be used. They should have been activated at POS when money was put on them before they were given to me.
I bought cards at all 3 locations in WA. They were all ready to go.
I've used mine and none needed me to do anything to activate.
Guess is that someone at Stockland Piccadilly made a mistake, with a batch or a few cards.
