Seems to be the cheapest so far for the RTX3080 system. Eligible for CashRewards. Base system has a RTX3070, but the extra $350 is a worthwhile upgrade IMO. According to the Dell website it's on clearance while stocks last.

2/5 Update: Out of stock now, however R12 with 11700F + RTX3080 is available for $2,928.38

    • Dell took off the charge from my credit card. Havne't charged me yet again though.

  • Just posting an update for my order -

    Order date: May 1, 2021

Estimated Ship Date: Jun 8, 2021

Estimated to Arrive By: Jun 21, 2021

    Anybody else have something different?

    • Mine is exactly like yours. Ordered May 1, 2021. Same ESD and ETA.

I've been contacting Dell and either the sales team is telling people that the orders of R11 will be cancelled due to 'EOL (end of life)', hence providing potential upgrades, or, the customer care team have been saying they have no idea what EOL is and just keep updated on your order status online. Funny enough, I reached out on Twitter and they said the ETA will be 18th May.

There are some posts previously saying that their orders have been cancelled. It seems ours haven't yet (or will), but not sure if I/we should just upgrade instead of waiting 3-4 weeks and then having our orders cancelled later? Waste of waiting time I guess.

Nobody at Dell seems to communicate with each other.

    • I ordered at 1:30pm on 30th April and estimated shipping date is 5 June 2021 and delivery by 22 June 2021.

Still waiting for it to enter production…

      • +1

        Same here

  • +1

Just got email from dell saying low parts they will upgrade to R12 but shipping is end of June

    • What time and date did you order?? Wish I got a free upgrade to the R12..

      • But you lose cash back.

        • You'll save that in power costs from the lower core clocks on the 11770 over the life of the pc

      • Friday, April 30, 2021 1:44 PM

        • I ordered after you (May 1st) but I haven't received any communication regarding cancellation.

Not sure what's going on exactly. I assume you got the 3080?

    • Was it 11700F or KF? And yes is it new invoice so you lose cashback?

      • 11th Gen Intel Core i7 11700KF (8-Core, 16MB Cache, 3.6GHz to 5GHz w/Intel Turbo Boost Max)

        yeah new invoice,

        • Cool thanks tempting for the K version though given I'm planning to try and improve cooling already

        • Did you order the K or F variant of the 10700?

    • Was your original order the lunar or dark side of the moon chassis?

      • dark side of the moon

        • I guess I'm asking the exact same question as Pandabargain, but did you originally order the K or F variant of the 10700? I assume you got the 3080 as well?

  • Has anyone recently given them a call regarding their order status.

Mines still stuck in Order Confirmed.

    Ordered 30/4 , 330pm

    • +1

Like is in production 30/04 12:01 pm

      • I ordered 45 minutes after you, still order confirmed.

        • I ordered at 1:56pm and still order confirmed as well.

    • I have actually just this afternoon received a notification that my build is complete, and the order status has now changed to 'shipped'. Previously the estimated shipping date was 5/6, and the estimated delivery date was 21/6. I ordered on 30/4.

Seems like they are being pretty conservative with their estimates.

      • When did yours enter production?

        • From memory, it entered production on 6/5, so the build took about four or five days. I'll check later and correct this if I have misremembered.

          • @Jeraz: What was your time and date of order mate?

            • @Pandabargain: The date was 30/4, and the time was about 7pm. I ordered the black case, I don't know if that made a difference. I also contacted them fairly early to raise a concern about the estimated timeframe. It's possible that contacting them increased my priority in the queue, I'm not sure.

I don't have it or anything yet though - the build is apparently complete, and I've been told by support that it is currently being shipped from the manufacturing unit to the Australian warehouse. I assume they are being manufactured in China.

              • @Jeraz: I ordered the black case as well but on 01/05 past midnight.

Would you happen to know when your payment was officially taken (not pending, but taken out officially)? Mine was pending for quite some time and they officially took the money out early this week - but my order is still only in 'Confirmed' status.

I thought Dell only takes the payment officially when they ship out items?

                • +1

@Wrinkly: I paid with credit card through PayPal, and there was definitely some kind of two step process involved. PayPal seemed to cover the expense and then bill my credit card after.

As a result, I am not really sure when the payment was taken officially by Dell from PayPal. From my end, the PayPal debit was 'effective' 30/4 and 'processed' 8/5. The status of my order had not changed to 'shipped' by the 8/5 though, so it looks as though Dell probably don't wait until shipping before taking payment.

                  • +1

@Jeraz: Just got a revised ETA - they estimate it should be delivered to my address by 21/5.

                    • @Jeraz: Not sure if you mentioned this before but did you get 3080 and 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700KF? Or just F?

                      Mines still stuck on confirmed.

                      • @Wrinkly: Just the 10700F. This order is mainly about the 3080 for me. Everything else is peripheral.

Have you contacted support and had a ticket raised? If they are aware that the timeframe is a particular concern for you then they may have some way to expedite your order.

                        • @Jeraz: Yeah. I got the KF. Not sure if it makes any difference to the order since it's the 3080 that's causing the delay from my understanding.

I did have a chat with them and said they'll expedite it but doesn't make a difference if they're expediting shipping but the product isn't even manufactured yet.

I have two tickets but not sure what they are since not much information is on them lol.

Thanks for the information though. Just hoping mine doesn't get cancelled.

                          • +1

@Wrinkly: My gut says that if they were going to cancel your order then they would have already done so. I think you're ok.

Given my experience, it's possible that expediting your order might involve improving your position in the queue, not just speeding up delivery. I suspect that the original date of 21/6 probably allows for some headroom, and that most orders will be complete before then.

                            Good luck!

  • Mine has just entered production today. Ordered 30th April. Still showing 5th June shipping date

  • +1

So i rang them again and now they are saying my order is pending production due to parts shortage.

This was different from last week when i was told it was due to be shipped 14/05.

    • Did you order the White or Black chassis/case? And has your money been officially taken out of your bank account or is it still pending?

I think there is an EOL for white cases, but black R11's are just pending production still.

      • White - paid by paypal…monies was taken from my account last Friday.

  • Just had a missed call from Dell and livechat person says R11 is out of stock and that's probably why they tried to call me. I placed the order on 30th April and 1:30pm or something. Hard to believe I missed out???! What a joke if they indeed tried to call me to tell me they can't fulfill the order.

    • How did u know it was Dell that called. Did they leave you a voicemail??

      • googled the number. no, didn't leave a message nor any email.

    • Ask them to upgrade you to the r12

      • I will ask if it is indeed out of stock.

        • Was yours white or black? Think they oversold white.

      • +1

I guess the problem with upgrading is that I will miss out on cashback as well…

        • I had back and forth with millions of people via chat and phone call. It was determined that the R11 is 'EOL' - End of Life. A salesperson tried to upgrade me to the R12 and even though the deadline was 2 days, he insisted I do it within 12 hours. Probably just wanted the sale badly.

I called them back again and ended up contacting supervisors who contacted the factory directly (supposedly at least). I found out that the white lunar case is EOL and the black one is fine for now. I ordered black but mine is still 'Confirmed' status only, albeit they took my money out of my bank account. I thought they only take money out once its shipped but based on comments above, doesn't seem like it.

They tried to upgrade me to the KF version of R12 so if you are planning to upgrade, just try and get the KF version. Losing cashback sucks though.

          • @Wrinkly: Thanks for that - were you going to have to pay for the r12 KF upgrade (not withstanding losing the cashback)? Also was it going to significantly push you down the pecking order?

            • +1

@blues99: I didn't have to pay extra for the upgrade if I did go for it. I would have just lost cash back since the sales would have been through the over aggressive sales agent. Just note that I purchased the KF version of R11 hence they're okay to upgrade it to the KF version of R12. Not sure if they'll upgrade you from F to KF. He said he can only match my order (can't even change the colour of my case for example).

I'm pretty sure it would've pushed back the order date as well since it's technically a new order. I think I remember him saying this too.

I didn't end up upgrading because Dell_cares via twitter said my order is pending shipment 18th May. I don't know how she got this date since my order is still at 'confirmed' status for the past 2 weeks. I asked someone via twitter another day and they told me another date (21st June still).

Really don't know what's happening. Doesn't seem like they know either. At the mercy of the factory just random cancelling or producing orders I guess.

              • @Wrinkly: Thanks - seems pretty similar to my previous DGF Dell experience also!

  • So I rang Dell and they couldn't find any record of someone from their end calling me. She said it could have been from the verifcation team as I paid by Paypal, but upon checking she confirmed verification has been released. Unbelievable that they don't know who called from their end and why. When I asked for an update on the order, the call got disconnected…

  • I just rang them now.

Advised no movement from Order Confirmed was due to lack of GPU in stock.

Made no mention about the White Case being not available.

Edit : The girl did say she will try and expedite order for me - not holding my breath!!!!!

    • Yah you will expire while holding your breath.

    • I rang them again and got told the same thing about GPU shortage and also about expediting it if they can LOL

  • Hi all, mine finally turned up today…

However the 3080 has the new hash limiter. So, for those intending to mine on it, you may want to rethink your order.

And yes, I checked the vram temps… It's definitely the limiter :(

    • +3

Oh no that is poor form on Nvidia and Dells part

    • -2

What hash rate were you getting to convince yourself it had the limiter?

    • -1

You could be right… but the chance of you getting the first LHR card the entire world has ever seen is highly unlikely.

Did you have much experience with mining? You might just need to play with your overclocks. PM me if you want.

edit: Just follow the instructions here and report back what your Device ID is - https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2040/~/i…

    • -2

What's your hashrate and what overclock settings are you using?

      • +2

        49-50 MH/s
        +1200 memory
        -250 core
        Nicehash

Have re-pasted and removed the sticker as per online guides

        • that's worse than 3070.

        • I get 45 MH on my 5 year old 1080 Ti

        • You should be getting significantly more than that. Maybe try using an older driver.

        • Did you update the BIOS and set the memory level to 1, etc.

        • Any news ? Did installing an older driver fix the issue ? Can you post your gpu details using gpu-z. Thanks

    • +1

Can you download GPU-Z and post a screenshot for us? Interested to see what it says the chip your running.

if this is the case with mine when I get it (supposedly in the next 2 weeks) it will literally be going straight back in the box and back to dell.

The most recent information I could find was that nvidia were limiting the 3060's and were next going to limit the 3080Ti and 3090Ti. Galax have created their own 3080 limited version. I haven't heard of any other instance where 3080's have been or are going to be limited.

      • Yah me too I bought primarily for gaming but still wanted to retain option to subsidise the purchase price - I know we were warned re 3060 and TI models but this seems like aggressive bait and switch from Nvidia +/- Dell - they should at least be upfront about it when it seems like literally no one else on the internet has received a crippled 3080 yet.

      • +1

I've found some more information which says GALAX has already released limited versions of 3060, 3060Ti, 3070, 3080. My understanding is that MSI are the manufacturer of Alienware RTX's and I can't find any information about them limiting cards yet.

      • +1

Agreed - current prices are (imo) only justifiable if you can mine to get back some of the ridiculous cost.

If they've sent out limited cards without telling us they will be limited, they will almost certainly be getting a lot of returns.

They can't expect to sell GPUs at price levels that have been bumped up due to their crypto mining capacity, if that capacity has been nerfed. At a minimum, they should let us know what we are buying.

I'd still like a 3080 for gaming, but I won't overpay for it if it is hash limited. If it is, they need to drop their prices even further. Most gamers are now factoring mining into their purchase decisions, out of necessity.

        • I've always custom built my PCs, and for a lot less than $3000. I was planning a new build for July but when I saw this deal I pulled the money from (minimal) investments for the sole purpose of making this thing pay for itself to then put the money back into the investment. I calculated it would take about 3 months to break even.
I've already spent an extra $100+ on fans, thermal paste, etc in preparation for fixing their noisy, underperforming crap, so I could either install it all anyway then see if I could sell the system and still make a profit, or just wear the $100 and use it elsewhere and return the PC to Dell.

That being said, I still can't find any other instances of someone having their Alienware RTX nerfed.

          • @TheSnyper: I am very similar - already invested in 4 new fans etc :(

          • +2

@TheSnyper: Mine should be coming this week some time, according to the updates they have sent me. When it does, I'll test it and then post an update here to let you guys know if it's an LHR version.

I'd be pretty surprised though if Pandabargain's was nerfed and mine was not.

            • +1

@Jeraz: Super keen to hear how your test goes mate, I just bought the 3070 setup.

              • +1

@Koin: Quick update - I have mine now (3080 with the 10700F). Unboxing and testing tonight. If anybody has specific questions, let me know what you want to know.

                • @Jeraz: How is the hash rate?

                  • +3

@PlagueistheCheap: My 3080 does not appear to be hash limited. Out of the box I'm getting 80-85 MH/s, and Lite optimisation on Quickminer gives about 90 MH/s.

I have no idea what happened with Pandabargain, I can't explain it.

                    • +1

@Jeraz: That's good news. I have actually ordered the bundle r12 system. I dont expect it for another few weeks. I am hoping I dont get a hashrate limited card however I dont need a 3080 for gaming. A 3060 would be enough for me but the price was killer.

                    • +1

@Jeraz: Great stuff mate and thanks for following up too. Enjoy the new PC - sounds like it’s gonna be a beast!

            • @Jeraz: Pretty sure Pandabargain was just trolling us. I don't think if someone who knew anything about tech got the first of it's kind IN THE WORLD for a multi billion dollar industry and would leave out important details then go silent.

People would pay good money for information about the specifics of that card.

              • @AaronR: I think he just sold it for 2.2k based on another thread and him not wanting it because it's hash rate limited though.

                • @blues99: What thread is this? He seems to be in the penalty box.

                  • @keejoonc: Now I can't find it but I'm pretty confident I saw it - could he have gone in the penalty box for advertising his 3080 on a deal thread and it was deleted? I'm relatively new on OzB

                    • @blues99: any updates on this?

                      • +1

@Fuzz006: Might have to retract it cause I cant find it now! Have to wait for pandabargain to exit the penalty box now haha…..

    • that's not good…

  • +4

Hi all, apologies for the delayed response, I was in the penalty box for offering to sell my 3080 in a comment. Didn't realise this was against the rules.

I did end up selling the card though, I also checked with dell.and they said I could return it for free. So, I would proceed with your orders, then either return or flip depending on what price you can get for the car.

    Goodluck with your 3080s

    • nVidia just announced yesterday that the new limited cards are arriving late May onwards and will have LHR branding so buyers are aware of the limitations.

I think there was just something wrong with your mining configuration and you didn’t actually have an LHR card.

    • +1

You also didn't post a GPU-z picture so we will never know if it is the LHR card or not…

      • In theory the card should also have the LHR code written on it too. Pics would help a lot!
Also has anyone else got their card yet?

        • +3

Yep. Tested it tonight - mine does not seem to be an LHR version. I'm getting 80-85 MH/s out of the box, about 90 MH/s with lite optimisation.

If Pandabargain was not trolling, then I have no idea what happened there.

  • Because these GPUs originally launched with a full hash rate, we want to ensure that customers know exactly what they’re getting when they buy GeForce products. To help with this, our GeForce partners are labeling the GeForce RTX 3080, RTX 3070 and RTX 3060 Ti cards with a “Lite Hash Rate,” or “LHR,” identifier. The identifier will be in retail product listings and on the box.

This reduced hash rate only applies to newly manufactured cards with the LHR identifier and not to cards already purchased.

  • Hmmm, Just called up to check on the order status.

My shipment date is the 8th of June and the women said that is really only a tentative date at this stage pending stock.

She said I could consider the R12 as they are supposedly in stock, so I got transferred to someone else (Sales guy I think)

Sales guy told me that waiting for the R11 is pretty much a waste of time and he thinks it won't get filled, but promptly asked met o cancel the order and get the R12, so they must work on commission or something like that.

Is there a way to speak to someone else about it?

I don't mind waiting, if I will get my cash rewards, but loosing that would suck. Don't know if getting the 11th Gen intel for the sake of cashrewards is worth?

    • Did they confirm they have them in stock though? The r12 shows 33+ business days for delivery on the site if you want to order one

      • He didn't specifically say they had stock of the R12 now that you mention it…

    • Might be tempting to get r12 if also significantly increased chances on non-LHR if that matters. Appears that if it is a straight swap 11th gen for non cash rewards then prob not worth it. This is classic Dell Chinese whispers just like Black Friday monitor deals but at least then we all got free stuff.

    • +2

The $150 cash back was main reason why I jumped on deal.

Unless they can match r11 price and maybe discount it further by $100 I’m not willing to go r12.

    • +1

Honestly a bit disappointed that they havn't notified customers that the order might not be filled. That is the kind of attitude i got over the phone.

We all know the R11 is discontinued, and some orders here did get cancelled.

But the rest of us? Have we been even allocated stock? :|

I will try calling again when I Have time and ask some more questions.

Anybody had any luck with their live chat?

      • Live chat has been "unavailable" for me during biz hours!LOL
