  Unilever massively screwed with the formula during covid and ruined it.

  • Used to be green, now it's red.
  • Used to smell nice, now it smells completely different due to the different ingredients.
  • Used to be thicker and would slowly come out when squeezed. Now it's diluted and runny and you waste more than you use.

  They've cut corners and diluted the product to save money, but kept it packaged with the same Africa branding to try and keep their regular customers, hoping they'll be on board with their crappy cash-grab changes (since most people tend to stick with what they know).

  Thanks for post OP (I used to buy 10 of these at a time when they got to this price) but now that they've killed the original formula, it's a hard pass.

    I think it depends on which one you get?

    I got Mandarin/limited edition and it's green + runny, then i bought black and it's Bluey and thick?

    $3 or less is the going rate a lot of the time at chemist warehouse

      I was referring specifically to Africa. And yes, I also tend to check out CW before Coles/Woolies as they'll generally have the better price.

    They changed the formula for Africa around 2010 (give or take a few years) and made it smell more petrochemicaly.
    Haven't been a fan since.

      Yeah they've made a few changes over the years, but this recent one is a completely different substance, colour and smell.
