Great little esky for plonking next to you in the river, or resting meat in for a couple of hours after it’s cooked in the Weber all day. Brilliant buy at that price.

I've had one for years (when they were waeco branded) and find them to be an awkward size. Won't fit a full size bottle upright and when fully loaded really difficult to carry with the strap.

Besides that, great price. Good coolers and keeps stuff cold for ages, and fits in my smallish car boot.

If your car boot can fit it, I recommend the 33L which I think is the same dimensions except taller so fits bottles. They also have carry handles which makes them a lot easier to carry. Not on sale though https://www.bcf.com.au/p/dometic-cool-ice-icebox-33l/386244.…

      • All fair points 👌🏻

When I’m camping I’m a cans-only guy, so not a problem with the height. It’s also the same height as my other camping gear, so packs well into the car and I can stack stuff on top of it.

Definitely agree that you wouldn’t want to carry it too far when it’s full - I only ever carry it 100m down to the river. I find wrapping the strap around my wrist a few times and carrying it with my hand to be the easiest way.

      • supposedly on sale for club members - $129 if I recall right so not the 50% discount for the smaller esky

  • Anyone own the wanderer swag? How's the quality and weight of it?

  • The swag has reviews from 2 months ago saying it cost $199 back then. Sounds like it could be a perpetual "sale"

  • Will the Esky keep my frozen/chilled supermarket groceries cool in the car boot without ice, or is this designed primarily for use with ice given that it's called an Icebox?

    • It'll be an improvement over a hot boot but they work much better with ice. Even just a few reusable ice packs or frozen water bottles to pre-chill before adding groceries should do if you're not leaving them long.
