OzBargain Just Mentioned on The ABC - 702AM

Congratulations fellow Ozbargain users.

Ozbargain was just mentioned as one of the 2 most reliable sites for product Reviews in Australia

Rated as better than Product Review sites, that maybe subject to 'cleanup' services.

This was on ABC 702 AM Sydney, with Josh Szeps (it may come online later on the site) which normally has James Valentine as the presenter.

Joel Gibson, was the guest that mentioned OzB (and W…….) . Author of Kill Bills

    Am I missing something?

Since when does OzBargain do product reviews?

    • +52

Not gonna lie, I do a product search on here to find peoples opinions. Need jv's opinion on something before I add to my cart.

    • +4

It doesn't, however, it's more so all the comments from other ozbers that have purchased a product, used a company, service etc. Also good for advice as well.
Yes there are lots of 'not so useful' comments etc but it all makes for some entertaining reading sometimes as well.

Review of what happens when you don't have insurance!

ABC am, not ABC fm !

        • Goes without saying, and so easy to switch from AM to DAB in my new Seltos.

Is ABC TV/radio any better than their “woke” nonsense on their website that includes such gems as accusing Bluey of not being diverse enough?

In my day we lost fat cat because no one could identify it's gender. Fat cat was ahead of the times as it's now on trend to not identify with a gender.

    • He is more expensive than those 20 $100k leased over 3 years hydrogen cars the government is going into trial in Canberra.

  • With the amount of insurance threads the site has, insurance companies can probably use their experiences some how to improve their product/services

    • Most the time it's members not having any insurance, they should have a sales force on here!

      • +1

They should SAP up all the sales opportunities.

I do tend to Google a product, here, before buying and I have sought people’s opinions before. The best part is you can get people to clarify comments and they tend to be forthright.

    • I Google OZB to find out about gumtree scams, how to get free water, and see Pam's latest outrage post.

OzBargain is my preferred place to get genuine product reviews, especially for technology products or Asian foods/groceries.

    • +12

It's my preferred place to get advice about the road rules.

      • +1

Or only taking cash on gumtree before selling stuff to Batman Bin Suparman

    What was the other site?

    • Whirlpool

      • +2

        spits on ground

We are way more honest in our reviews. And humble, and better looking!

Check the phone works and is the right one, before handing over cash.

Don't send item until money has arrived in bank account. A screenshot WILL NOT do!

Waiting for a flood of 1 post wonders asking questions they could have Googled for themselves.

    • Or Asked Jeeves?

    • OK, so you get your Covid news from Ozbargain as well.

      • +1

What is this covid thing you speak of?

        • +5

You might need to sit down.

As much as i like ozbargin for reviews the fact i inform the public suggests to me i shouldn't trust reviews, most of which are social pressure to buy items.

  • BRB off and buy a LG OLED tv now.

    • Na, wait two years for the next major advancement then another year for the EoL sales.

“Oh, my chums and I were just mentioned on the wireless. How very quaint.”

  • OMG I am in a site that somebody on that site mentioned it was mentioned on some radio station I’ve never heard of! Could I feel more important???
