  • WW should be able to offer better discounts based on their earnings in the last few years. 4% is too stingy. Cuz of too much shoplifting lately?

    Edit: for a long-running deal, it's fair.

    • Grocery margins are quite thin but consistent.
Woolworths spends way too much money on the 'triple bottom line' and various social initiatives that people would prefer reflected as better value products.

These gift cards should be at a higher discount due to interest rates being much higher - at ZIRP, 4% is ok. But when your variable mortgage is at 7%, there's less incentive to pre-purchase gift cards.

That said - I'm thankful that these are relatively easy to purchase and use (although I preferred the Woolworths Money app)

  • The price jack for insurance products is real. Coles was sharper price wise but still have one product with them. Just need to be better organised with GCs

    • Coles Insurance is owned by IAG. Coles sold off their insurance arm years ago.

      • They market themselves as Coles Insurance, you can still buy insurance through them, but it's a rebranded and underwritten IAG product.

Anyone able to still buy these via the EDR site ?

I can no longer see it being available when logged in..

When using mobile, click on the person icon then my account and under the account details section there will be a link for the discounted gift cards.

    • I can't see any more either

  • Just checked and it’s there , sometimes you have to follow the steps a few times

  • Oh nice Woollies Insurance got cheaper! Now only double not triple RACV/AAMI

Similar to 7Rewards, which is free to sign up.

    • I think 7Rewards have stopped selling Woolworths group gift cards. I've been buying them from 7Rewards for months now and when I went to buy one today they seem to have disappeared completely. Can you still see them on the 7Rewards app?

  • Unable to buy with CBA Mastercards at the moment. Seems to be something wrong with the security verification function.

Ive had Woolworths Insurance on both cars for about 4 years now, and they have actually been the most competitive. I can't recall the exact numbers but AAMI/Budget direct etc was around $1100-1200 or so, and Woolworths (even with renewal price) was about $850, and topped with the 10% we use every month would dramatically bring it down. We also use everyday xtra's which is an added bonus, and yes use the 4% GC's from the insurance portal. All adds up. I also just signed up for Coles saver plus for $7/month for 10% there which is only a $70 spend to break even so if you buy as much groceries as we do, is well worth it!

    • And how about when you go to make a claim?

      • Yes curious about this too. How is Woolies insurance when you make a claim?

        • Never made a claim.. hopefully never have too lol
