  Drone is to helicopter as automatic is to manual.
  
  Drones are definitely easy to use and 'better' in many conditions, but it's not same playing Ride of the Valkyries and chasing your family around the house with a drone.

They're not junk, they're easy to fly around the house and pretty fun. Good for the kids. Agree $40 with shipping is a not a superb deal though.

  I don't understand the hate. They're not a drone, they're a 'copter, and the S107 is the easiest style to fly. Mainly useful indoors, but they are great fun.
  
  Edit: I just looked and I paid $16USD in 2014 for the S107G, but they did get more expensive in the intervening years (if you could even get them).
