What's the Ozbargain way to clean my couch? Got it second hand and it's a bit dirty but otherwise perfect.
I was thinking a handheld steam cleaner, but I will probably only use it once (maybe on my car as well?)

Second this.
Wash it a couple times. And try to organise a regular washing schedule (eg three times a year). If it is possible, use very hot/boiling water, and have it dry out in the sun.Note: this is assuming a cloth couch. Not all machines accept very hot water read the User Guide. Some couches are heavy to move outside, sometimes it is dusty outdoors.
Britex does delivery now. No need to go to Bunnings and drag the machine to your car etc
The furniture restoration accounts I follow all use hot water extraction when restoring old sofas. You can hire one for $38.60 + $5 for the upholstery wand - https://www.bunnings.com.au/for-hire-britex-carpet-cleaner-2…
i would pay someone to do it

Probably won't help much, we have this one and it barely helps.

The britex ones you can hire are much more effective, but still not perfect and takes a while to DIY and dry.
Is the bissell any good? I was actually thinking about getting one for my rug and my couch.
Thanks :)
It's helpful in emergencies (ie when my son vomited on the rug), but I don't find it very effective at removing stains.

We just use a lawn mower…
Don’t you mean a lawn sprinkler?
Do you mean the dog ?
You could wash the dog, on the lawn, and kill two birds with one stone.
@try2bhelpful: What would I do with two dead birds then? Feed them to the dog?
@jv: Fertiliser for the lawn?
We take the covers off and wash on gentle in our front loader.
How about hiring a steam cleaner that does upholstery?
Bunnings/Woolworths, or a hire company.
