  • Good tools and impact resistant, according to this:

Add a hammer and flat blade screwdriver and that'll complete a tool set for a first year apprentice mechanic.

    • Just need a filter wrench if you apprentice at a brand dealership.

      • Not required, you take the flat blade screwdriver and hit it with the hammer until it goes through one side of the filter and comes out the other.
Then you have leverage to unscrew, that is a tradesman at work.

exactly the comment i came to see

    • "I got it off a hairdryer"

  • Not exactly sure if this is much of a bargain. Quality looks questionable, right on par with Bunnings craftright shifters.

Only difference is the above comes with a bag

    $25 Bunnings ones

      Does craftright have lifetime warranty?

    • How can you judge the quality from a bunch of photos?

      • +1

you can see the poor finishing of the casting around the hanging hole for example.

Colour me old-fashioned, but if a "professional" turned up at mine with a shifter, I'd be a bit peeved…

    • i was about to say… shifters are a last resort… if that's the only thing you got

otherwise no one uses shifters since other 'fixed' tools are better in just about better in any situation

    • +3

Lol, you think a plumber is going to carry an entire spanner set? Shifters are perfectly adequate for low torque applications

  • +2

Maxpower, hopefully they got the name off a hair dryer

  • I can't help but think these are a 'must buy' if your name starts with Homer.

  • Made in China.

None of my "quality professional standard" hand tools are made there, yet a lot of my cheap as chips throw away tools are.

Cheap shifters suck. Invest in a good set and you'll save your knuckles and your nuts and bolts.
