    Ah this brings back memories of living in Canada.
    Love a good filtered coffee.

    • Exactly why I bought mine last night when I saw the deal. Cold weather hankering for a bottomless cup drip coffee to drink for hours on end eh! Grew up with this in rural Ontario.. as Davies says It’s ‘bred in the bone’

      • Are you Canadian as well? Nooo sh!t.
        My parents used to own a coffee shop, so I grew up on drip coffee.

        • Ripper yeah I was born north of the 60 in North West Territories but grew up north of the capital in the Ottawa Valley.. that is where the proper usage of eh occurs haha “Gday I’m from the Valley eh”

          What area was the coffee shop in?

            @thatsthat: Brampton, then Mississauga.

            • @he11bent: The Sog .. good stuff mate … would also often run up to Brampton to play ice hockey .. family is now in Niagara Falls (north) region

              • @thatsthat: good ol Sog. Used to play street hockey in front of our place, like good Canadian kids lol

  • Too many coffee machine now, only one cup a day.

  • Wondering whether there would be BPA or other toxic chemicals leaching out from the plastic parts as the hot coffee flows through them e.g. the filter holder assembly…

      stuff (other than BPA) is released from plastics (even PP) at high temperatures. I never heat plastics at home for that reason and hand wash anything plastic so that things are only in warm water for a short time (rather than long periods in hot dishwasher)

      I even removed all the interior plastic components from our kettle. Our coffee "machine" just consists of a cafetiera, all stainless steel, that sits on the stove.

      That's just my take on it. I would be looking for a glass one instead.

      Our family have had a few of this exact coffee machine over the last 15+ years and no issues with us other than our second heads growing. Bang for buck, top machine.

      • Hopefully the chances of any issues are small but it could also be that they take a long time before they manifest themselves (15+ years notwithstanding!). Lookup Molar incisor hypomineralisation or chalky teeth in children, how common it is (yet seldom talked about) and some of the suspected causes of it. Then start thinking about other implications of that. Then get back to us.

    I don't need another coffee machine but at that price I can't say no. These drip systems are hard to get these days. Thanks OP
