Heard of 1000+ thread count sheets, does it make a difference for you? What’s a good brand and where did you buy it for good value?

I sleep in a big bed, with my wife
Can I borrow a feeling?
I've gone linen and now I can't go back to cotton. Linoto is very very good but shipping from USA was expensive. Milano series from Bed Bath n' Table is a better 'budget' option and it goes on sale for around 20% off every now and then.
Ettitude is the best I've used so far, bamboo, but not cheap
I bought those as a gift but never heard back how they felt!
I got The Sleeping Alchemy bamboo sheets and they're amazing. I like them in all seasons.
Yeah the bamboo is almost silk like so great for hot weather over here In Perth, the summer cover/duvet is just the right weight/warmth in my opinion
My wife's name is Sheridan.
I don't get a choice in sheet brand, but they are pretty good. We get them from the local outlet store when they are heavily discounted.
Thanks John. There's a great movie about an autopsy of Jane…. Oh!
I went sheet crazy earlier in the yr. I bought these from addairs "Worlds Softest Cotton Sheets 500TC Pima Cotton World's Softest Cotton Sheet" and are by far the most comfortable sheets I've tried. Not really suited to winter temps but for summer they are perfect.
Also a fan of linen sheets. Temple and Webster make the nicest linen I've tried. Work well for summer and winter too.
Brooklinen. They don’t seem to be as affordable as they used to be but I picked up a few of the Classic sets several years ago and they still feel great.
Without question, these…

Got some 100% lyocell sheets from Target on clearance a few months ago and they are very good and cool. Otherwise lyocell/cotton blend or 100% linen are both good (mine are from Ikea), with linen you'll need to wash it quite a few times before it gets soft. I change my flat sheet and doona cover once a week and use the flat sheet on the mattress topper and it's much easier to change than a fitted sheet on a mattress: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ruPtJvbk1NI
Anything that’s good quality 100% cotton, cotton/bamboo blend.
Won’t touch anything that’s polyester, yuck.
I have some sheets from Adair’s home republic 1000TC cotton sateen and some from Mercer and Reid but they seem to be discontinued which I don’t mind since they are a tighter fit and more of a pain in the ass but still really nice to sleep on.
Quilt cover is the 600TC cotton/bamboo blend again from Adair’s.
Mattress topper I’m using the ultimate from Mini jumbuck.
Recently just bought some sheets from canningvale from the 20%/$10 cashback flash sale. 1000TC Mille cotton sateen. I think these will be on par with my current sheets.
i had a bamboo sheet set by home republic. 400tc. it was the best sheet set ever. got softer with every wash. was cool in summer.
I used to always buy the 1000 thread count stuff but then I was given a Sheridan washed linen quilt cover and sheet set and absolutely love it. I use it with a 500gsm wool quilt and its cosy in winter, and does the same job in summer as I sleep with the air con at 16 degrees so it’s year round winter for me.
How’s the electricity bill?
No idea I rent a granny flat with electricity included in the rent so I’ve never seen the bill. It’s a 2.7kw cooling only window unit, and the energy monitor I had it plugged it into recorded 921.8kwh over the 128 days I was using it, so I don’t know if that’s good or bad. The owners rejected my offer of paying an extra $40 a week when I asked to put it in, and when I saw a bill come in the mail a couple of weeks ago I said I would pay some of it to cover any major increase which was also rejected, so I can only assume it’s not too savage on power.
Some maths.
Peak Off Peak Shoulder Total Hours 20 63 85 168 Kwh 109.7380952 345.675 466.3869048 921.8 Rate 0.35 0.2 0.26 Cost 38.40833333 69.135 121.2605952 228.8039286 Assumptions:
The aircon uses a linear amount of electricity (these calcs do not assume an aircon works harder during the day vs the night)Source for rates:
https://www.canstarblue.com.au/electricity/understanding-que…tl;dr: 128days cost you/your landlord $228 or $1.78125/day.
@McScotty: I ran it strictly between 6pm and 6am on a timer if that changes the values at all.
$1.78 seems pretty reasonable
@Magnastar: $650/year sounds significant
@MuddyClear: It would be if I ran it all year. As stated above it was run for 128 days.
@Magnastar: $228/year then
@MuddyClear: Sounds like my landlords find that perfectly reasonable.
Egyptian Cotton - you will never look back.
Really liking these bamboo sheets I recently got, so comfortable. More so than the 1000ct sheridan's I had.
I can’t stand cotton/high thread count, they get way too hot.
I don’t know if Ettitude sheets are actually worth the price over cheaper bamboo lyocell options but they’re high quality and definitely the best I’ve slept on.
It’s a slippery slope once you start doing the other bedrooms and the wife insists on multiple colour variants but all of our guests that have stayed over agree and most have ended up buying their own.
Your mum's
Myer Vue sheets. Fairly cheap seems ok, don't have much to compare to.
I have slept in the best hotels around the world. Not bragging but hey, i have been privileged to do so.
Forget Sheridan and expensive sheets. I have spend thousands on expensive cotton sheets, thread counts etc. Sheets that promise everything but a BJ.
Do yourself a favour and try the ecosa bamboo sheets. Get the package deal.

The reviews speak for themselves.
They feel like luxury personified, so silky soft and comfortable. They are always cool and fresh.
