I thought this might help some of you out.

I recently picked up SF4 on PC, but my PS3 stick doesn't work on my PC.

I want to go to tournaments, which are primarily on 360, so I have to get a 360 stick anyway so I've been looking around.

Unfortunately you just CAN'T get TE sticks in Australia anymore. I checked EB, JB HiFI, Big W, even ebay and Amazon (both .com & .co.uk).

2nd hand ones go for about $170 which is a lot!

I checked out the qanba but I don't really like their design.

But this morning I found Zavvi.com. I just placed an order for a brand new stick for the princely sum of 100.94 pounds, which comes to $150.20 Australian. Cheaper than a 2nd hand one on ebay!

Of course, usual caveats apply. It's from OS so good luck with warranty issues. And I haven't received the stick yet so it might take weeks to get here. Or I might get an email saying they won't ship to Oz. But I'm feeling lucky and I think this is a good deal. I've already got a TE for my PS3 and I can't say anything bad about it, except that I don't need a turbo, and I think the LS/DP/RS selector is crap. Everything else is A grade.

If something goes wrong I'll post here and tell you all, but if anyone else is looking for a TE stick now, and doesn't want to pay crazy money, then this is an option.

  • tempting to start over with AE2012, sold my last full sanwa stick wanting to quit and move on with life, spent way too much time on it and then in arcades/online, crazy addicting…

    • Tell me about it! It's the only game that I'm still playing everyday almost 2 years after buying it.

And I still get consistently pwned, but that's a different story.

  • the ps3 version is also available for the same price. nicely spotted!

    • Nice spot yourself! Updated

  • Don't worry if it hasn't arrived within a week or two - sometimes Zavvi send their packages by some sort of slow-mail (routed via Sweden…) - I've occasionally had things take 5 weeks ! Still excellent service when they charge just $1.50 to ship to here from the UK, even for giant items.

  • 6 weeks for the Hut group AFTER despatch is not uncommon.

large items are not always despatched.

Despatch can take up to forever or you cancel.

If the item does not arrive after 6/7 weeks you can TRY to contact them.

    They may NEVER respond.

If anything goes wrong with your English Madcatz purchase you will have to return it to the uk. This you will pay for.

Madcatz warranty is worthless incidentally but technically the hut group also covers you for a non-working product IF they respond AT ALL - you can argue that point.

You pay your money and you take your chances - what's a $150 punt on an iffy deal matter to anyone on Ozbargain these days anyway?

    • It wasn't really a punt. I paid by credit card so I get some protection. There was never a chance I'd lose my money.

  • You could buy the 360 stick, and mod in a Toodles ChImp board for all round PS3/PC/360 support.

  • Arrived in the mail 3 days ago. Popped in an octagonal gate and I've been getting my fighting fix on my PC every since.

Delivery took 10days. Not suggesting that's average though. I've had stuff take much longer from the UK. I think I just got lucky.

There was some slight damage to the box, which is unfortunate as I can't now resell it as mint condition box, but that's the risk you take ordering stuff from the other side of the world.
