The Inkbird IBBQ-4T wifi unit is at a very low price and even includes the carry case this time … and yes, the stock photos are humorous, but the product is great from my experience. And their sous vide machine is really cheap and performs well too.

Careful, some listings are up to $30 cheaper than others..

    Example:

    This: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Vacuum-Food-Sealer-Machine-Built…

    Then this:

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/INKBIRD-Vacuum-Sealer-Automatic-…

Personally my recommendation would be the King's vac sealer and Thermoworks thermometers.

    • I got a Javelin pro Duo pen. Very fast!

For $60 you can get mk4 thermapens here:

        https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ETI-Superfast-Thermapen-4-Blue/29…

They are refurbished but this is where I've always got my thermapens from.

        • Yeah I've seen that, but can't get it shipped to Aus for me for some reason.

My javelin was only $40 odd anyway for performance pretty similar. I get 2 second lock on with mine.

          • @kickling: That's a good deal! Javelin Pro is now $150 on eBay now lol

        • Did they ship to AU for you? I can't seem to get the option.

          • @simulacrum: Not the Thermapen. Can't ship to Aus.

            • @kickling: I get them shipped but it's a bit difficult and not sure I can comment on how.

We do have an aus distributor here.

Good price for the sous vide.

  • $80 for the SV stick is killer

  • People who own a sous vide, do you use it much? Or will I just use it a few times and forget about it?

I have a slow cooker and a weber kettle, do I need a sous vide or do I just want one?

    • Four-five times a week, mostly for steak. They're awesome.

    • Used it heaps as experimental… Mainly trying to turn cheap steaks into something nice.

Then I moved back to reverse searing on the Weber / oven.

But i still use it for pork fillets.

    • Great for meal prepping as well. I use it to cook while I do other things around the house or go out.

      • ^ this. Very useful.

    • bugger it. couldn't resist.

      • Have fun!

Go to YouTube and watch Guga's channel called "Sous vide everything"

The ITC-308 is excellent for home brewing purposes to control a fridge and keep your wort at a constant temperature. I have the non-Wi-Fi version with the extra long 12" probe and it's great. The single best improvement I've made to my brewing practices.

    • Stc 1000 is a lot cheaper if you can perform some basic wiring.
