I work at Subway and can confirm its state(vic) wide, not sure about other states. It started last monday (9/1) and runs for 3 weeks ending 30/1. The free 390ml is with any 6inch or footlong Subway Melt (Ham, Turkey, Bacon), Chicken Schnitzel, or Chicken Parmigiana(which is just Chicken Schnitzel with ham and marinara sauce).
Working today, I had multiple customers refuse the free drink. And even one customer who chose to buy a 600ml instead of getting a FREE 390ml. Coulda brought a cheaper 390ml and got a free 390ml to have 780ml of coke for a cheaper price! It made me question humanity. In my 7 hour shift I had 4 people refuse the free drink even though I told them it was free. /facepalm
I've heard of that happening. In fact I lived with someone who worked elsewhere who would have customers refuse the freebie. He'd often run it up anyway and keep it for himself.

for some reason, there are people who are embarrassed to claim/receive a freebie. like it makes them look cheap. i will never understand these people lol

I'd wager that most Subway customers are eating there because they like the food, not because they're trying to be healthy. There's a reason the pizza, meatball, and chicken parma subs are more popular than, say, the "Veggie Delite".

Yeah this happens way to much in life. Thinking is obviously far to difficult for some people unfortunately.
When I was young, I worked at a chicken / fish place and had the same thing happen many times. Once I told a customer who wanted 3 pcs butterfish and small chips, they could get 4 pcs and large chips for less money if they went with the special family pack deal. The reply was "Just f*cking give me what I ordered idiot"

Also footlong with free 390ml coke for $10.95, chicken schnitzel is not that bad (wish they did it for chicken tery though, would have my lunch sewn up…)

In regional NSW yesterday I also got this deal when buying a foot long Chicken/Bacon Ranch. It was listed on the promo. Not sure if the same subs are eligible elsewhere but the ranch seemed to be instead of the Subway melt and not in addition.
I saw it in North Sydney a few days ago, probably NSW wide as well because I believe Subway doesn't franchise in Australia

i learnt the "chicken" wasn't really chicken when a friend i knew had a reaction to it…And everything else in the sub she had no problems with except that "chicken"…
I avoid chicken when mentioned now.
I have no idea whether it's actually real chicken or not, but whatever it is, those frozen blocks that they microwave and then call "chicken" are nasty. "Eat fresh" is a joke.
I stick to the pizza sub… no one cares whether pepperoni or salami is "fresh" ;)

Is this only for Coke, Coke Zero and Diet Coke? A few years ago they included a free coke with subs and they didn't allow you to substitute it for Fanta, Lift etc.
I know my store only stocks Coke in 390ml. No other flavours like Fanta, Lift. Only have those flavours on the post mix.
This deal works in Newcastle NSW. I'm guessing its Australia wide….
Also, the Premium Chicken Subs taste great, whatever is in the chicken can't be worse than the meatballs, those things are mysterious. I ate a crunchy one once, last meatball sub I had.
If you don't want the coke, just take it and give it to a friend at work or something, or try to sell it for a dollar to random outside the door.

I don't think it would be too bad if they are walking out of a subway with a subway an unopened bottle and there is a big sign saying "buy a premium sub and get a 390mL bottle of coke". Then again, I'm a trusting person.
I don't drink coke and buying bottled water makes me feel stupid. But I love the premium subs…..
