There's cheaper ones advertised just below it on the linked page, one of them was $20 for two and even gave me a 5% off coupon.

Dyson sent me a free one just simply by saying theres an odor smell coming from the vaccum

Wait so the overpriced bagless vacuums have consumables? 😂

    • Pretty sure bagged vacuum cleaners also have a hepa filter at the end.

      • -3

They do but one of the main selling points of a bagless vacuum is saving money on consumables hence my comment.

        • Well I think you will end up saving money anyways with the bag less.

          Bagless, buys washable filter

Bags, keep buying bags weekly/fortnightly/monthly AND the filter (may or may not be washable).

@mbck: My vacuum cost under $200 and a $2 bag lasts me 6 months vacuuming twice a week so I doubt it. The filter is built into the bag on bagged vacuums so no extra filter replacement cost.

@Cheaplikethebird: Yes the bag has a filter for obvious reasons, but the air coming out of the vacuum cleaner is filtered again at the end. This will need to be cleaned regularly. You can wash it, or if you didn't know then you're just blowing dirty air out.

2 dollar per bag?? I can't find this deal here, you should post it to share with other people. Actually, considering the price of a hepa filter, your 2 dollar bag is probably not filtering things properly at your place, even if you cleaned it twice/thrice a week. 2 dollar bag wouldn't even supposed to be reusable, so that's not quite healthy either.

Whatever works for you I suppose.

    • You can wash the filter you get with the vacuum.

  • Aren't you meant to clean then as per instructions provided? Maybe intended for people that broke their filter mesh from some hard cleaning…

    • Unfortunately due to the design it takes ages to dry (up to 3 days). If you use it damp you run the risk of killing your vacuum.

The only time I have been able to dry it within a day was in summer with a heat wave…

  • I tried one of these aftermarket filters. performance of my v10 dyson was significantly impacted- felt like it is "choking" the vacuum.
