actually - just caution that they've removed a lot of discounts. so check against chain reaction cycles, evans cycles and probikekit before purchasing

    • Good spot - they've just come off a huge sale and it's generally free delivery over around $80, so might not be that great. Still, if you're after a few little things here and there (tubes, socks, gels and the like), might be a good opportunity.

And of course, I will head over there to check it out, like the Wiggle whore that I am…

I buy quite a bit of cycling gear but haven't bought anything from Wiggle for quite a while as they just don't discount as hard as they used too . Also try ribblecycles.co.uk , evanscycles.com and frugalrouleur.com (excellent price comparison site)

  • Bought goggles and swimmers for $54 delivered, exact same at Rebel Sport would've set me back $95…I suppose it depends what you buy. About to buy cycling shoes for $60 less than the best price I can find here.

  • Also check Ribble Cycles. There's a website aggregates prices from a few online shops (Ribble, Wiggles, PBK, etc) to save you some trouble, I'm remember the URL right now. Google or search cycling forums.

    • dupe. sorry pls delete.

  • Ribble are $8 cheaper on the shoes i'm looking at, but they have hardly anything in stock, and a minimum GBP250 spend on free shipping (min. spend excludes frames, bikes, wheels).

http://frugalrouleur.com/ for comparison of Wiggle, Chain Reaction, Evans Cycles, Ribble & ProBikeKit prices

    • Bizarre … You like I got negative votes after mentioning frugalrouler . I'd love to know the reasoning behind that .

    • good site - i use it regularly

  • Ta. Bought some Nuun electrolyte tablets for $6.36.

  • Yeah great deal if you need small like tori above has done.

Also don't forget Merlin cycles, like everything need to check on competition who is cheapest but Merlin does have some great deals now and then. I picked up a 2011 full Xt groupset including Xt wheels for $830 delivered bout 6 months ago. Bargain ;)

  • I've got gold membership, so regardless I'll get some sort of discount. Free shipping FTW (I took advantage of CRC's free shipping before xmas, and got a few cheap things i've been needing with no shipping!)

Don't forget the 10% off if ordering over 50gbp worth (code: 10-off). Just tried it and it seems to work in conjunction with the free shipping.

    • hmm… but 50 gbp qualifies for free shipping, thereabout..

    • Thanks! I cancelled my original order to add that on :) worked great.

      • Great find!

    • Thanks for that - I've had my eye on some Invo8 lite trail shoes there for a couple of weeks, that voucher just pushed them into the "price I'm prepared to pay to take a punt on new shoes" zone.

    • is it still working ?
i have tried and it failed for some reason.

  • Thanks, bought a pair of running shorts. Saved 50% off Rebel's price. Woo woo!!

Don't forget to compare the $AUD price with the UK£ price. I paid in pounds and think it was about 9% cheaper than AUD

    • But then don't you get hit with an OS fee from your bank?

      • Generally not on a credit card, might cancel my orders and use the tips (-10% and GBP) and see what the difference is. I have an EU bank account as well, so might see if the EU rate is better. Now THAT's tighter than a fish…

      • You can work around with NAB Gold banking if you don't want a credit card. They don't charge a foreign currency fee.

      • +1

2 numbers and 2 words for you - 28 Degrees mastercard

      • Don't forget ANZ's 3% foreign transaction fee, whether it is another currency or AUD. Now have a 28 degrees card, but still occasionally get stung by things like Living Social, ANZ adds 3% even though it is in AUD, must be a foreign bank.

for $160 AUD worth i am getting charged $135 through choosing GBP
so that is an 18.5% discount

    • Thanks for the heads up! Cancelled my order and submitted it again in GBP, saved 13% :)

  • Good news people, i can confirm that 20-off works for me to get 20% off.

    • What spend do you need to qualify for that?

    • well at the moment i have 102 Pound in my cart. In the voucher section it says that 20% has applied however its only reducing around 12%. So i can't quite figure it out. But its gone from 102 to 90…

    • 12% is the discount for platinum members (spend over 500gbp in last 12 months). 20% off is only valid for full priced items (list price) and not already discounted items.

      • first i've ever purchased so i'm not a platinum member, and the 20-off deducted a further 3 pound than the 10-off code. Nothing i bought wasn't on special

        • Strange. I used the 10-off on some DA wheels on special but it wouldn't accept the 20-off

  • Can only find 1 chain lubricant product on the whole site. Mighty unusual for Wiggle.

    • they just do not ship them to Oz. i guess.

    • They don't ship them to Oz. CRC does, I picked up some Purple Extreme last time.

  • Can anyone please let me know if you have any luck with code 10-off ?

    • Yeah, worked for me. I was after some Inov8 F-Lite 230s, worked a treat. Odd thing, though - they were listed at $130-140, but when I got to check out, once the voucher was applied they were just on $100. Odd….cool, but odd.

That was in addition to my Platinum discount.

      • The problem was Cateye HL-EL135 and TL-LD130 Plus Velo 5 Gift Set.
I have removed it from the basket and it went through.

  • Re-ran order in GBP, added the shoes and the 10-off discount.
In the end paid AUD$128.51 for the following:
1 x Speedo Endurance Plus Jammer 38" Black
    1 x Shimano R087 Road Cycling Shoes 46 White/Black
    1 x Speedo Speedsocket Mirror Goggles Black/Silver
1 x Lezyne Metal Patch Kit Silver

    Happy.

  • cool. finally dare to buy asic noosa…

  • So why does a chainset cost so god damn much?
I just want to replace the pedals and the other crap that broke on my bike - It looks like I should just go find a $25 2nd hand bike and rip what I need off that.

Where do you buy bike parts for commuting instead of wanky race crap.
I would buy 3 chainsets for the price of one on these websites then just replace them when they break, they cant be that different for low tier stuff.

    • I replaced a road double chainset with a mountain bike triple with a product from a certain online auction website. It's nice to be able to get up hills. Never got around to changing the derailleur as someone decided to steal my bike. :(

    • Go to kmart.

    • Most LSB's will have low end gear as well, aimed at casual riders. Also try Anaconda, they have house brand things that are reasonable, plus reasonable return\warranty.

    • I have just built up a commute bike using a Sugino XD2 Chainset - The XD600 is good too. I got mine from Rivendell Bicycle Works - but got other gear as well to justify the $50 USD postage. Universal Cycles also do them but not sure on postage. Sugino is cheap for a quality chainset/crankset ($142 US for a triple) & I am very pleased with it thus far. Whether it will fit or not will depend on yr bottom btracket and front derailler.

  • Brilliant! Got a few pairs of Asics Kayano 18s with a few workmates - including the 20% off voucher it comes out to be A$150 each. It is currently A$250 at Footlocker with Rebel having a sale at A$200.

  • Wiggle are good - delivery is also usually quick. Only thing to be mindful of is their ##% discount codes are often off the list price not the discount price. I found this out when I ordered something a while ago with a 20% off and ended up paying more than the usual discount price. After sales service is also great in my experience where they have sent the wrong item and fixed the issue without fuss. Much cheaper than AUS unfortunately. My first purchase from there was a bike frame which was delivered in seven days- I was amazed- Same frame was min 4-6weeks from LBS.
