I see iphone se but not 2020 and reason i asked as this item was probably out before the phone
So according to that list, it isn't compatible with the current (2020) iphone SE, yet I see no reason why it wouldn't be.
Should work with any device that has a lightning port. Could potentially work for other devices that have the 30pin like older iPads and iPods if you get an adapter but probably would be slower and unreliable
Would this solve the most tedious artificial problem ever created that Apple still refuse to fix - the copy/paste of photos on windows pc, a thing that is still impossible to do in 2021?
Like can you back up photos there and then easily transfer them on pc?

Yes, you can, very easily. Once you install iTunes and sign in, it's plug and play.
In the world of cloud backups, I don't see how this is valuable though.
You use iCloud for all your photos?
Anyway I like to merge my recent photos with my “legacy” ones on my hardware, which I can’t be bothered to upload. Far too many gigabytes of crap that I don’t want to delete
No I don't, I use a mix of Google drive and Google Photos. I spent a weekend uploading all my old legacy photos to google drive so I can share it with family and also have a backup.
ohh the moneys I saved from not paying for any cloud subscriptions
$43 a year for my whole family, very expensive…… lol
@onlinepred: 43 a year for what? I don't recall prices like that
@shabaka: 200gb google one for family. Even cheaper if you go through Microsoft.
Doesn’t your iPhone appear as a device in My Computer when plugged in? From there you can access your photos and copy over etc.
From memory that’s how I used to do it without iTunes.
Yeah but you have to manually copy stuff over in iTunes. this device starts backing up straight away when connected
For photos, you don’t need iTunes. From memory it appears as a device and then allows you to access the DCIM (Photos) folder.
That’s how I used to do it years ago…
@[Deactivated]: It doesn’t work, it disconnect the device every 1-2 minutes. Tried with different cables, different PCs etc it just doesn’t work
I use https://www.photosync-app.com/home.html - the app costs a little, but transferring just works, every time.
Requires a constant subscription to autotransfer files and to transfer in full size quality. Better off just buying the base and paying once
iCloud at $1.50 per month would take just over 19 months to reach $29, after than all ROI.
Not a bad investment, considering it’s automatically done when you charge, however, iTunes can also auto backup over WiFi, so then this thing has not all that much usefulness.
What if I have more than 64GB to backup?
Buy two of them
Haha…serious question though. Does it only back up the data that’s recent? How does it work?
It appears that you will receive a notification once base is full, then you can be offloaded base data via memory card slot or connect to computer via USB.
App will only remove files it has backed up.
Might have to do a few transfers initially if you have a large amount of non backed up files.
Just buy another higher capacity sd card
Wait, so this is a combi-powerbank+extra storage? Can it be used only for backup?
I don't think it's a powerbank, just fast charge + storage, and not working without power. If you sync, you also charge anyway. I don't like the idea of unnecessary charging while syncing, which wears out your battery longevity.
Would this work with andriod?
Would have been better if it was wireless charging with auto-backup. The design itself is begging to be a wireless pad.
Only amazon has the wireless version I think.
Is this compatible with ipad 6th gen and iphone se 2020 and im curious if app suddenly stops working being its dated item now?
