North Bayou F80 Compatability with VG248QE Monitor

Hey guys,

I like the aesthetic of the F80 North Bayou mount (see link below) but have read comments saying that this mount doesn't fit every monitor and the H80 is a safer option for that reason.

Just wondering if anyone has tried it with the ASUS VG248QE previously and can confirm if it's compatible?

Also thoughts on getting two single arm mounts instead of dual?

Can you even remove the stand?

    • Yes. (See p14 of the manual)

      It's a standard 100x100 VESA mount.

    • yep! But not sure if it fits the F80 mount

  • +1

If its at all recessed, I would wait for a deal on the H80 and run with that.

    • Thanks - think I'll just do that to play it safe.

  • Bumping this thread as an opportunity has come up to buy a second hand F80 and I had a similar query.

I've read that there is an old F80 and a new F80, and the newer model doesn't have issues on monitors with recessed VESA mounts.

My question is: what visibly has changed between the new vs old F80's that I would need to check for before purchasing these F80's, or is there a model/version number listed on the box?

Also, I've read that you can remedy the issue cheaply with the old version by getting some spacers between the F80 plate, and the VESA mount on the monitor. Are there any problems with doing this?

  • I read the same about my S2721DGF which has a recessed mount and the F80. Apparently though the new version fixed this so I bought it to see for myself and yep it works just fine. Also made the choice to get 2 singles instead of dual because everyone on this forum said allows for more flexibility. It's true but in my case with my simple layout of them being side my side, dual would have worked just fine. So ask yourself how you want to set them up and if a dual could pull it off easily.
